Hi - after looking through old posts and the entire S/D thread...I only saw a few pics and mention of the Executive Suite at the Swan. We're headed to WDW this time next year (end of Jan into 1st week of Feb for a 6 nt stay) with 2 adults and 2 kiddos - ds10 and dd13. We were thinking of getting 2 rooms - at the Swan....we've stayed at the Dolphin before but kids want to try "the other side" of the resort....and I realized maybe the Exec suite is the way to go? Looking for some feedback and opinions. Thanks :)

Called S/D - got some info that there are exec suites in both Swan and Dolphin. We'll stay on the Dolphin side - looking for feedback still :) Thanks

Sorry, I don't know anything about them. What did you find out? I'm sure they must be very expensive. We have two rooms booked at the Swan in June.

Hi'a Patty -

Actually I was pleasantly surprised - the rate which is with no discount was $409. We will have a teachers rate applied when they open that up for 2013 - so it'll be even cheaper than that. We're coming out ahead booking this vs the 2 double rooms :thumbsup2

Don't mean to hijack your thread, but we're going to have our first stay At the Dolphin...
How is the size of the double bed? They told me it was only 1 inch smaller than the queen?
I'm only concerned because it'll be me and my 9 yr old in one bed and my friend and her 8 yr old in the other....
TIA...

Hi Lauren - we slept with the same age kiddos during our last stay (with the two 2x beds). It was just fine. The beds are very comfortable, which helps. You can also ask for a roll away cot that fits by the window just fine. We love the S/D. I prefer it over any if the Disney resorts - primarily because of the comfortable beds and the food selection at the hotel. :thumbsup2

Great, thanks!
We landed an awesome price because we live in NY and the Giants won...so we have 7 nights in a resort view for $974 (that includes all the taxes and the $14/day resort fee)!

That's a great deal! You'll enjoy it :) Some folks don't like the non-Disney feel... but when you know you're staying at a nice hotel for a great price - sometimes you don't miss Mickey that much ;) And you're still right in the heart of it all - walking distance to other resorts and Epcot. Have a great trip!
