I do still have Karen but I have never called or talked to her. Have you tried emailing Just Marry or Karen directly?

Diana is my planner! I know she is planning Teresa's S/D wedding as well.

I'm not sure if you start out by contacting her or if that's a later assignment but her email is diana@justmarry.com

Quick question for you Swan/Just Marry girls ... since we're cancelling w/DFTW, I want to get in touch with someone at JM to see if we can possibly switch back there (since we cancelled our Swan VR last October). I know I've read here that Karen has moved into a new position, but when I called JM last Thursday, their voice mail system still listed her as the contact person for weddings. I haven't heard anything back yet (I always heard back within a day previously), so I thought maybe there's someone else I'm supposed to be calling? Does anyone have any suggestions?

When did Karen move into a new position and what us her new position? She was our planner and she was beyond amazing! I'm so happy for her if she got a promotion!

Does anyone have photos of the ballrooms? I have looked in several places and can not find any. Thanks for your help.

We did not have a ballroom, but we did have one of the reception rooms-Pelican Room 1:

& clicking on the blue links available on the map. I think you need Java to run it. Osprey Ballroom is the largest, followed by the Swan ballroom. I love the ceilings in their ball & reception rooms! The location of ours was wonderful-right around the corner from the bathrooms and the hallway where our reception room was had a piano & beautiful windows to outside

No problem! Isn't that a handy website? Are you sure you can't make any arrangements until a year out? I am the loonytoon who started planning one and a half years out and I was able to get a ton done!

I have spoke to Just Marry and the Swan and Dolphin, they both have told me that I need to wait until a closer date? I am kinda like you, I have to plan everything.

Really? I think I called in Sept. of 2011 for December of 2012 and I got the ball rolling.

Regardless, don't worry about it! We hopefully can help you until it's time to get official!

I had to wait until a year out to book. The only way I could have booked sooner was if I went with West Courtyard, for some reason they allowed that more in advance. I think it depends on the time of year, location, etc.

Thanks you guys. I am really confused at this point? We will have around 21 guest, the catering manager has suggested a reception at one of the signature restaurants, my husband would like a dance floor. You can't have a dance floor, dj, etc. in the restaurants, right?

The amazing, patient, wonderful Karen just emailed me to let me know we are officially a go for Crescent Terrace at 10am on May 1st! Jeff and I are soooo happy!!!!!

Let the planning begin!!

From what I've gathered you CAN have dancing in the signature restaurants. One infamous S/D wedding is Michelle and Russell's. They had their reception at BlueZoo and used an iPod for dancing. However, this was during the day and they had the restaurant all to themselves.

I'm really not sure about the DJ at a S/D restaurant! I know Teresa, another S/D bride, is having her reception at Fulton's Crab House and is having a DJ.

This is very true. This is why I am sending our contract in today! Diana let me know this so that I would not have to pay more.

So I have seen my name come up a couple of times.

1. I tried a blue zoo reception and I was told that dancing would not be allowed because they will not allow me to re-arrange the tables...hence me moving to Fulton's

2. I looked into a ballroom reception but it was too expensive because of the menus that wanted to make you get. They will not take less than $85 dollars per person.

I am getting more food and a plated meal for less than the swan catering department was willing to do.

Not sure if there was anything else I needed to comment on I will go back and look and then post if there is.

Yup! Karen sent me our contract today so I can get it to them tomorrow just under the wire!
