Swan/Dolphin question

I called yesterday to try to get a teacher rate for Nov. 9-14th. The reservationist said the only discounts they are showing is from Nov. 18-25th. She said sometimes discounts open up...is this true? Is it worth it to call every day to see if anything is available? Thanks!

Yes, it is true that discounts can "open up". For example-they may be holding rooms for a group (conference), end up with fewer than anticipated bookings for the group, then release the dates. The circumstances and volume would need to warrant them granting the teacher discount instead of letting the rooms go empty. I think it's been mentioned (maybe in Glo's FAQ?) that Friday mornings are a good time to call to see what has opened up.
Since they have a toll free number, it can't hurt to check back with them now and then!

While I have never had a problem getting an AP rate at Swan or Dolphin in the past, even peak season, it seems busy for the fall. I wasn't able to get a discount for my October dates and the reservationist said there were none for the month of October and early November. I wonder if there are a few big conventions this fall. I plan to call every couple weeks or so to see if something opens up as well as wait for possible WDW Resort discount codes.

I don't know if this could be the reason, But the Food and Wine in Epcot start's early this year..Oct.1st. and whatever else.
