I hope to go to WDW in August 2007 with DS6. Which would be a better choice for us, the Swan or the Dolphin? Is one more kid friendly than the other? Which rooms have decent views?
The last 2 times we visited WDW, we stayed at the Contempoprary(2005) and the Poly(2006). We really enjoyed both of them. However with the discount provided for teachers at the Swan and Dolphin, we can go for a longer time! :cool1:
Thanks for your input.

We used to prefer the Swan until they made some major annoying mistakes that delayed our check-in until very late. Now we always choose the Dolphin. We never noticed any difference in kid friendliness.

We stayed at the swan/dolphin on 3 trips now. The first was ok. The second they screwed up badly, double charged us, added a huge debit hold even though we prepaid in full, and then charged us for water we never used. Just back from our 3rd trip. Even though we prepaid again they once again charged us twice and once again charged us for water we never used. In fact, my wife stated watch this they will probably charge us for the water that was sitting next to the tv and sure enough they did. I had to call accounting and email them a copy of the prepaid reservation just to get them to credit the double amount back to me. Ridiculous. I will not be staying at that hotel again. If you do stay there watch your bills and credit cards closely.

I stayed at the Dolphin 2yrs ago with my kids and will be staying there again soon. They loved it. We asked for a view of Epcot to see the firworks at night and also could see the Board walk to the side a bit. They liked the pool also. It was all so easy to get around everywhere from there.

I just returned from the Swan Sunday night. I've had a few errors on my bill in the past (not this trip), but they were always easily fixed.

I prefer the Swan, but the Dolphin's public areas have more of a "wow factor" that kids enjoy. The more casual eateries are there, too.

I'll be back at the Swan the week after Thanksgiving, and I can't wait!

I've stayed at the S/D numerous times and never had extra charges show up on our bill. :confused3

I think younger kids will enjoy the Dolphin more because as previously mentioned, the casual eateries are located there; Picabu and the Dolphin Fountain. There is also an arcade.

It also seems easier to get to the Grotto Pool area from the Dolphin. There's an exit right down the hall from Picabu and the arcade that will spill you right out near the lap pool, and then beyond that is the spring pool and the main pool with waterfall and slide.
