For those still thinking of mid-December...S&W still have rooms for the $159 Dolphin/$179 Swan holiday rate (between 12/12 and 12/20). I just booked!. :cool1: The reservationist was excellent! (which is not always my experience when I call Disney Sigh.)

We are usually YC/BC people, but this is an extra, "last minute," trip with family, so not as many choices for our dates, and certainly not at this price for an Epcot resort).

While I doubt it will replace YC/BC as our first choice, the rate is very attractive, and the process so easy, I can see shifting over some of the time we would usually spend at Disney-resorts to S&D.

If you book by phone: 1 night deposit, fully refundable with 5 days notice.

If you book online, 1 night deposit not refundable.

Wow - that is a great rate for S&D for Xmas time. Does anyone know whether they will have a similar rate for Easter, or is that too much of a peak time? We are going 13-19 April and the rates for then seem to be around $260. We are lookinga t getting 2 interconnecting rooms and it is getting soooo expensive:confused3

if you book by phone, you don't have to pre-pay? I found the $159.00 rate for our dates on the S/D website, but it says that rate is for pre-pay only. If I call, can I just put a deposit down, and pay the rest on check-in? Thanks!!

Correct if booking by phone not a pre-pay. The reservation person charged the one night's deposit on my credit card, and told me if I canceled outside of 5 days before check-in the entire deposit would be refunded...but that cancellation within 5 days of arrival would forfeit the deposit.

Sorry I'm not sure about Easter stays, but you might want to sign up on the Swan & Dolphin website for email deals. I just received this code today in an email directly from the Swan & Dolphin. It says I'm a member of their recipe club (:confused3 ), which I didn't know I was part of, but I guess maybe that was included when I signed up for email deals. Anyway, this shows year 'round savings which might help you at Easter:

From the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin
Recipe Club members receive 50% off our
rack rate all year long!

For reservations, please
call 1-888-828-8850
and ask for rate code: RECIPE
(Offer subject to availability).

There are probably usually other deals going on that are better than this (like the one the OP has), but at certain holiday times this might be a good one to at least price. :thumbsup2

BTW here's the recipe too! (from one of the Swan & Dolphin restaurants)

Crab Mac & Cheese
Ingredients for Boursin Cream:
1 Tbsp. Butter (Clarified)
2 Oz. Onion (Spanish, Small Dice)
1 1/2 Tsp. Garlic (Minced)

1 Each Boursin Cheese (5.2 Oz.)
1/2 Cup Mozzarella (Shredded)
1 1/2 Tsp. Salt (Kosher)
1/4 Tsp. Pepper (Ground, White)
1 Tsp. Tarragon (Fresh, Finely Chopped)
1 Tsp. Thyme (Fresh, Finely Chopped)
1/4 Cup Cornstarch
1/4 Cup Water

Ingredients for Crab Mac & Cheese:
6 Oz. Boursin Cream
7 Oz. Gemelli Pasta (Mac & Cheese)
2 Oz. Crabmeat (Jumbo Lump)
1 Tbsp. Cheese (Parmesan, Grated)
1/4 Cup Croutons (Chopped, Approx. 1/4")
1 Tbsp. Onions (Green, Sliced Finely)

Method of Preparation for Boursin Cream:
In medium sauce pan, sauté onion until translucent and slightly soft. Add garlic and sauté until aroma appears. Deglaze with sherry. Add cream and bring to a simmer. Add cornstarch slurry and bring to a boil. Add Boursin cheese and seasonings. Whisk until completely incorporated. Take off heat and mix in mozzarella.

Method of Preparation for Crab Mac & Cheese:
In small sauce pan, place Boursin cream and bring to a simmer. Add cooked pasta and mix with spoon to combine. Place in oven-safe bowl, evenly top with crabmeat, then sprinkle with cheese and finally the chopped croutons. Place in 400° oven on bottom shelf and cook for approximately 7 minutes until top is golden brown and sauce is bubbling. Garnish with green onions.

Place on serving dish and serve immediately.
