Swan all nights or split Sheraton safari?

We always stay at Swan and have accumulated enough starwood points for a few free nights at Sheraton Safari over one night so far at Swan. Hope to get more points together before our February trip--but need opinions from those of you who have stayed at both resorts. We'd like to go to Universal a few days this trip so I was thinking we could start trip at Sheraton safari, where we won't be at hotel much while going to Universal, then transfer to Swan to wind down. However the transportation cost to get from safari to Swan and from airport to Safari and everything (even with mears) adds up. What would you do?

We've done both. I too say do the Sheraton Safari first because the Swan is so much nicer and the perfect way to end the trip. I dont know about the transportation since you didnt say how many are in your party. You could rent a car at the swan/dolphin through national I think.

I think you will want to rent a car. Relying on off property transportation either takes a lot of patience and time, or a lot of money. You will find it much more convenient if you have your own transportation. You could only rent the car from the time you arrive until the day you check into the Swan, and then use Disney transportation while you're at Disney, if it will save you some money.

The Sheraton Safari is a very nice hotel, and convenient for going to Universal. It is at the corner of Palm Parkway and SR535, and if you go up Palm Parkway, it takes you right to the Universal entrance. There are also tons of restaurants, many within walking distance, in that area - so you'll have plenty of dining choices.
