SWA-Summer Sale??

Hi, Does anyone think SWA will have a SUMMER sale??(or a LOWER priced catagory for Summer?) Right now Pvd. to Mco in July the lowest fare is $124. (one way). This starts on May 24th,before that there is a $59. lowest fare option. Just thinking ahead and should I be CHECKING SWA every day to see if this changes?? Anybody waiting with ME?? Joan

DD goes to college in Prov & has an apartment, so even though we live in CT, I'm looking at Bradley & TJ Green for our late Aug flight. Delta is just a nightmare right now with rates of over $300pp and SWA hasn't released yet. I've never booked my trip w/out the flight before and I'm really nervous. Want a good rate (less than $200 would be wonderful!!)

So, yes, there are a few of us out here waiting for Aug. I *hate* paying more than $300/round trip for my DD and me. I'm too spoiled by SWA's cheapy flights!

I booked flights a month ago for late July. After taxes I got the rate of 99 and some change. Checked yesterday and the rate went up by $3. Same rate catagory (fun fare).

For your ding to be enabled. Right click the SWA logo and you will see" enable audio notification" check that and you should be able to hear your ding!

I'm not waiting for Aug, but Oct. I too will be flying from Prov to Orlando and can't believe what the prices have been so far. I had been trying for months to get a flight to Tampa for this week, to suprise sil for her 50th bd. I couldn't believe how expensive the flights were so hope she likes the flowers that will be delivered instead of us bringing them to her.

I am hoping that after Spring Break they will have a Summer sale to Florida from the Mid west like last year.
Today I got an e-mail with a Summer sale and it is $99 one way,but the day we want to fly home it only shows a 7:55 am flight available and I really don't want to get up that early....

I guess I will wait a bit longer and see what happens...It is making me very nervous....I hate taking it down to the wire!!

I read the article posted and a $10 increase is not bad...I would love a $79 sale even though I have gotten $49 last May....

Do you remember when you received those rates for last May? I've been holding out for lower fares. I'm getting a little nervous about booking. I also, received the same e-mail. I would hate to book and not be able to apply the credit back to my card because we aren't planning to travel again next year. Any insight? TIA

Hi ,I KEEP checking my dates in July and all catagories are pretty empty! So HOPEFULLY SWA will have a Summer Sale!(or at least drop the lowest price-it is now $124.) Joan

I looked and it was April 9th when they had a 3 day sale with $49 rates to Florida. Now they may not be that low, but I will take $79. I know what you mean about being nervous...I have been trying to figure out there system.

I was looking at April dates for Sat and Sunday flights and there are plenty of good times for $99 and then when it get toward May they start blocking out some of the times for the internet fares.

So my theory is that they block out the good flight times and days to see if people will book at the higher fares and then when it gets about 2 months out they start opening them up to fill the planes... You just have to check everyday!!! I sure hope I am right!!!

Mousesavers.com says the best and cheapest times to book flights is 6 months and then 2 months out.....

I DECIDED TO CHECK SOUTHWEST THIS MORNING AND THE LOWERED FARES TO $64 ONE WAY TO ORLANDO FROM ST.LOUIS!!!

SO I BOOKED!! SUNDAY WE HAD TO GET THE 5:00 PM FLIGHT, BUT I TOOK IT AND I WILL KEEP CHECKING AND IF I SEE AN EARLIER TIME I WILL CANCEL AND SWITCH THE TIMES.
SATURDAY COMING HOME IT IS AN EARLY MORNING FLIGHT ,BUT THAT IS OK.THOSE TRAVEL DAYS ARE WASTED ANYWAY UNLESS YOU HAVE AN EVENING FLIGHT...
I AM JUST HAPPY TO BE FINALLY BOOKED!!!!

Hi, THANKS for posting!! I checked SWA and they are GOING DOWN!! My July times are only down to $109.(lowest price-one way)from $124.(not low enough for ME yet!) But now it is up to June 15th that you can get LOWER fares of $59.(one way).This was May 24th before today. This is the PVD to MCO route.So I guess I just need to KEEP CHECKING every day! Joan

I'm waiting on November. I think last year, this opened up around mid July. We are going in May for $135 RT and I don't think that SW will be that low again. The cheapest we ever flew was $115 RT. I'm just hoping we can get at least $175 or less in Nov. Prices are up and I think they won't be going down until someone figures out how to make oil out of seawater.

Just checked if there was a change in $ for our flights May 26/ May 29th. Our departing flight now has an internet one way fare that gave us a $135 credit towards a future flight. Yahoo!! Maybe DH will join us on our trip now....

It pays to check everyday!! Yesterday the cheapest was $99 one way and then this morning it dropped to a $64 base fare!

I will be watching for an earlier time to open up...It could happen! Atleast SW makes it easy to cancel and rebook!

I am waiting for September rates which have not even been released. DBF has a conference 9/13-9/15 and I will fly ot and meet him and we will do a few disney days but need tix for me and dd and don't want to pay an armload.

I am very wary about downloading things onto my comouter - is DING safe? I had a virus a few years ago and had to get a new computer - and don't want it to happen again. any thoughts?
