SWA-Summer Sale??

Yah!!!! :cool1: Southwest came through for me this morning! I had already booked my flight down there on April 30 via a DING! fare a couple of weeks ago but was holding out for a better price for the flight back on May 6. This morning I was able to snag an Internet One-way fare for $49 -- even better than the DING! I got for the other flight! I am one happy camper! :woohoo: Glad to see that alot of people are benefitting from the lower fares this morning!

Tracy,
DING seems to be very safe and I have it here on my work computer. If it was a problem they would have removed it by now.
I know it is very popular! My Boss even has it on her computer! :surfweb:

You can get some awesome deals that way! :goodvibes

Thanks to reading the posts from today, I checked my fare for 5/28-6/5 and found internet fare at 69 where I bought for 99. I couldn't change the first leg (or rather didn't want to go from first to last flight to MCO) but was able to change return for a $50.00 credit.

SW "Summer Sale" says stl to mco 99. I didn't think SW went in and lowered fares without it being part of a advertised sale. Guess moral is like other airlines, check periodically anyway.

As the credit expires 7/26/06 since I used older travel credit for this trip, the SW Customer service person told me that after the 6/5 flight, call them and the credit will be refunded to my card.

Thanks Disers and Thanks SW!

I BOOKED THIS MORNING AND THE ONLY FLIGHT TO MCO WAS AT 5:00PM AND THEN A FEW HOURS LATER I LOOKED AND THE MORNING FLIGHT WAS OPEN!! :cool1:
I WAS SO EXCITED AND SO I CALLED AND THE GIRL HELPED ME TO CHANGE ONE LEG LIKE THE PREVIOUS POSTER SAID AND THAT WAY YOU DON'T CANCEL THE WHOLE FLIGHT.
WELL BY THE TIME I GOT INTO MY RESERVATION AND DID THAT THEY TOOK THE TIME SLOT AWAY AGAIN!!! :confused3

SHE SAID THAT HAPPENS SOMETIMES!! SHE SAID KEEP WATCHING AND THAT THEY MAY OPEN IT BACK UP. ATLEAST I KNOW HOW TO MAKE THE CHANGE NOW.

NERVE RACKING! :confused3

I'm going to MCO on June 16 from MDW-Chicago. The rates are now $99 one way. After reading some of your posts about rates going lower 2 months out, should I hold out a little longer and see if they go down a bit? $99 ain't horrible but anything lower is always better ;) . What do you all think??

Hey BabieJosie,

I AM FINALLY BOOKED!!! :thumbsup2 :Pinkbounc  :cheer2: I just saw your post and thought I may have missed out. So I was able to book 69 each way :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: I am so happy :rotfl2: Good luck to those who are waiting..here's some pixiedust: Thanks again Josie!

Hey bugbugmom,

I did not even notice that you are from St.Louis too! :woohoo: :woohoo:
Glad you were able to pick up those great prices too...
I can't wait to go!!

Diamondgrl,
That is what I did...Held out and checked everyday. $99 is not bad, but $69 is a lot better!
good luck! :wizard: :wizard:

Waiting for late August also. Hoping that the lowest fares come out first so I don't have to play games  with trying to get a lower fare after res has been ticketed.

If your nerves can take it, I'd hold off booking until the lower fares come out. We now have a $350 credit -- and no plans to use it (and lost a credit in '05 for a similar reserv. change and then no future flight on SW). I was happy to get $59 one-way, but would have been very excited if I'd gotten the money back on my credit card -- We didn't change anything about the flight or time, initial reserv. was internet-only fare and so was this one.

Hey fellow O'Fallon MO DIS'er! :) Yes, you really have to check SWA site daily. They lower fares out of the blue!

 Hi back to Plutofriend! Funny, just on that one page of this thread, there were 4 of us from MO. I've seen others from St. Louis and one or two close to OFallon.

When is everyone going?

Yeah, I didn't think SW did hte up and down pricing that I see on AA for example.

To PolyHereWeCome, when I talked to SW today about my credit that's expiring 7/06, she said to call back after these flights are completed and they would refund my card. I've seen on this forum others saying the same thing. So maybe you can get your $ refunded.

Hi, Does anyone think SWA will have a SUMMER sale??(or a LOWER priced catagory for Summer?) Right now Pvd. to Mco in July the lowest fare is $124. (one way). This starts on May 24th,before that there is a $59. lowest fare option. Just thinking ahead and should I be CHECKING SWA every day to see if this changes?? Anybody waiting with ME?? :confused3 Joan

We are from MA. and checking every morning at 5am to see if the august rates have been released. I debated booking our Villa via renting points but ther were only a few studios left at Boardwalk so we jumped and booked it. So we need Southwest to pull through for us Aug 6-11. IF NOT try ALLEGIANT AIR out of worcester. its $74 each way! and they offer transfers for $21 to disney resorts!

Yes, that's what I'd read some time back, too, so I called Southwest (the toll number, not the reserv. number) and she said they'd only credit back on card if it was a refundable ticket. She said I could extend the credit an additional 6 months if I called March '07 -- I'm sure hoping we can use this credit, because it's $360!
