SWA... should I even bother trying this?

We've booked our flights on SWA... got good rates! Now I know SWA lets you change your flight time for any other flight that day and just pay the difference. (We did this with our flight there and got a better time than our initial flight at the same price ).

I've been checking everyday and see our return flight has gone up in price (to the same price as the return flight that would be ideal for us. Any chance they will let us switch to the other flight (without extra charge) since now both flight are the same price???

I now it's a stretch but hey it never hurts to ask right?!

No. They will allow you to switch to any other flight on the same or any other day without paying a penalty or change fee, but they will account for any difference between what you PAID (not the current fare on your flight) and the cost of the flight you want to change to. If the flight you were changing to was at a lower rate, you would get credits for future flights. In your case, you would have to pay the fare differential.

Plane tickets aren't assets you own that go up and down in value, unfortunately. They are a contract to transport you from one location to another at a certain price.

Thanks, I figured as much. I was just wondering out load if anyone ever had any luck with this. Still happy with our flight times and fares!

The price of the flight didn't go up, the discounted seats have been sold already. And, as PP have told you, you must pay the difference between the cheap fare you purchased and the full undiscounted price of the flight you wish to switch to.
