SWA out of Dulles ?

We always fly SW out of BWI to Orlando and have had nothing but good experiences there. The SW terminal is very rarely too crowded and going through security is quick (especially compared to Dulles and Reagan).

BUT .... for our next vacation, all the early morning flights are sold-out for the day we need to fly. I can get the early morning flight from Dulles for the *best* price. Was wondering if anyone has flown IAD/MCO? Good or bad?

TIA :)

Have done the IAD-MCO route many times...overall, it's "good" but I say that partially becaused I have become accustomed to many of the things that people find negative about IAD. Dulles is an older, large airport that is not laid out well in terms of navigation and convenience. Your experience with getting to/from, security lines, on-time departure, etc may depend on days of the week and how well you plan the logistics of your trip.

I would assume you are referring to the 640AM flight which leaves out of terminal B....if so, that terminal requires a very long walk from security or a long wait for one of the people movers. The terminal is nice enough with good places to eat and drink.

Despite the challenges of IAD, I would still say go for it and don't let the concerns hold you back.

Thank you :) ~

Actually, they've changed the morning flight time to 7:25 - not *quite* so early! Yes, the people movers are one thing I really hate about Dulles; honestly, they are just a pain!! I'm just spoiled by the 'niceness' of the SW terminal at BWI I guess :) IAD is a shorter drive time for us, but normally BWI is worth the drive. I think I will go ahead and book the Dulles flight and can always change. One thing I've noticed about the BWI/MCO flights is that the 'cheaper' fare can be sold-out one day and then available again the next ~~ Haven't seen any DING's to MCO for quite some time now ... still watching for those too!

I agree about the lack of DINGS. I haven't seen one from BWI to MCO in ages. I can't say I open every DING, but do check them two or three times a day.

I have my Ding set up for both IAD and BWI (I live 15min from IAD)... I only get 1 Ding a day it seems, maybe 2... But i only see March ones now, ( i am looking for July flights), and not once to MCO

I have mine set to both too ~ Hoping to see some DINGs soon! Gosh, for our December trip not only did I get DING'd but also the 'internet' fare went down considerably from what I had originally booked. Love those SW credits! :)

what are guys that fly out of Dulles or BWI pay for 1 r/t ticket? Right now, i can get my DW and myself 2 r/t out of dulles for $350 and wondering if I should just purchase that

That's the $79 flights (each way) right? That's about the best I've seen from there on a regular basis.
BWI usually has the best prices ~ at Christmas I got $44 DINGs and have had $49 and $59 'internet' fares from there - they come up far more often out of BWI than out of Dulles.

can one of those of you that have flown SW and AirTran from dulles, or the area compare the 2 services? I can get both flights for $77/each way and dont know who go to with
