SWA on Airlines show

The guy drunk ok they left him off good but did you see the ticket guy not checking the people letting anyone on while arguing with the drunk. They pretty much call people liars but not using the word liars.

Here's the thing. Anyone with a reasonable degree of common sense is able to conjecture that you need an animal carrier to bring an animal on board. The drunk guy was totally over the top, and they let people on board if they're well-behaved; the others on line were well-behaved, so the gate agent just checked in their passes and waved them by. Not sure what you mean about the liars thing?

I agree that catfish thing really almost made me puke , and that was before they even showed the bugs:crazy:

Really? I don't recall ever seeing this. They usually say that there is nothing that they can do and the customer will need to purchase another ticket and can get a refund if they find the original. That doesn't seems like bending over backwards to me.

After seeing Airline, I would NEVER fly Southwest. Granted, I fly so much that I have Platinum status with Continental and Gold with American so I am used to getting great and decent (respectively) service. I am horrified by the level of customer service of Southwest employees and of the airline's policies.

(Also, I think the show Airport that Airline is based on is much better. )

I actually think that SWA are being good sports letting themselves be taped. Who knows what good things end up on the editing room floor (not good tv viewing). We have no idea how the other airlines are run 24/7

I love, love, love SWA. I fly them almost exclusively. In my opinion they have the friendliest, most accomodating, at times hilarious employees. I have traveled the last almost 7 years with kids, often by myself, and there is always someone there to help me. on our flight from Portland, OR to Orlando (which was $82 each way thank you very much SWA!), the flight attendants even sat with our kids, shared their snacks with them, gave them each like 6-7 bags of cookies, and were so, so pleasant. They made a world of difference for DH and I.

Between myself, DH and our parents, we have probably logged 100+ flights with SWA in the last 7-8 years and none of us have ever had any problem of any kind, except perhaps a delayed flight of a maximum of 45 minutes. Not too shabby.

I agree that the A, B, C boarding can be a pain, but only because I think people get so stinking pushy. You can now print off your boarding pass the morning of your flight, as I understand it.

I love SWA too. They have peanuts not stinky pretzels. The A,B,C boarding is annoying but I've had seating problems on other airlines. Last time I flew American I couldn't get 2 seats together for me and my 3 year old! Finally after leaving my son strapped in his car seat in the row behind me because that was his seat and no one would move, did someone offer to move so we could sit together (and no it still wasn't anyone is my row or his!).

It's great to pay around $500 for my family to fly instead of the $800 most other airlines want.

I used to say I would never fly SWA and then I decided to give them a try. I now will fly them whenever I can. I really like their less restrictive checked baggage allowance, especially when going on a longer trip. Plus they're filming more at BWI, lol!!

I've only watched it a few times and can't believe how stupid or demanding people can be  ... I wouldn't want to be a gate agent for anything!! I laughed through most of a show, but felt bad for a few people who had been drinking and they wouldn' let on the plane, but it really was for their own good.

HEY!!! Wait a second. I resemble that remark...or is it Jolie, or browneyes? :scratchin I can never keep us straight!

ALL airlines overbook and bump passengers. It's the nature of the beast. Obviously they're doing something right, they're the only airline currently operating in the black.

The time they overbooked by 50 people and caused people to miss their cruises was pretty scary. I could see 5 or 10, but 50?

SWA is one of the most accommodating airlines flying in North America at the moment. If you want to see airlines that aren't accommodating, then I suggest you try pulling the kinds of things you see on the show with an airline like Delta, or NW. Then you'll see the difference.

Of course almost every other major airline in North America has either filed for bankruptcy protection, is seeking protection from creditors or is asking their staff to take pay cuts and laying them off. SWA in the meantime is actually making money, so as others have said they must be doing something right.

Jet Blue doesn't overbook its flights at all.:D

Are you serious? You can't just show up at the airport with an animal and expect to be able to shove it in your carry on bag. Airlines are people carriers, not animal transport.
That agent was a sweet as can be to that lady. The dog lady had the nerve to say "No one told me." Ummm did you ask anyone? No, I didn't think so.
Another example of people expecting the world to bend over backward for them.

And the guy taking boarding passes is not a FSA agent. He is a ticket agent that collects tickets for a flight. Those people were already screened at the security check point.

ALL airlines overbook flights, Jet Blue included. Perhaps their flights just aren't full, so there is never an issue with overbooking.

That is the one and only Airline show I've seen! I thought the gate agent was great. Who gets a dog on vacation anyway? but I digress. I agree you can't just so up with at dog and try to "sneak" it on. There are rules. When we moved I flew with my cat. We were told we needed an FAA approved carrier and shot records, paid the fee and had no problems. SW was willing to fly the woman and the dog as long as she could prove that the dog had it's shots and was in an approved carrier. I believe those are FAA rules not just SWA rules. She was also willing to rebook her the next day. The woman's own family said they wouldn't take he back to the airport the next day!

Was it a mess yes but the woman was unwilling to miss her flight or get the required documents. I was more annoyed by the woman than the gate agent.

For every show, I wait for one of the irate passengers to dole out the standard line, "I'll never fly SW again." Or the other standby classic, "I'm suing SW." Uh-huh.

I LOVE Airline....:D

I'd love to try SWA one day. I wish they'd fly to Atlanta. I've heard about how much fun it can be....:D

Pulled off a plane? Been there done that!

Dad works for Northwest, so I got pulled off some flights and bumped from several more. I've even been stuck at airports overnight. Did I complain? Heck, no! Did I demand satisfaction, compensation or a hotel room? Never. I could've gotten my father in BIG trouble. That's just non-revving. It' wasn't 100% free to us, but it was so worth the trouble.

Anytime the flight was full and we got on, we'd chant under our breath...."Close the door, close the door!" Once it was shut, we knew we were safe.

ROFLMBO! I know exactly what you mean. We did the same thing. We would sit down and just wait, holding our breath, until the cabin door was shut and then we would start to relax. It wasn't until the aircraft pulled away from the jetway would we really know we were all clear! :)

My Dad used to work for NWA before he retired as well. Although before that he was with Republic. He wasn't with NWA too long before he had to retire.
