I was checking out the fair specials for June, and the tickets are around $104 each way.

Last year, During the third week in March, I was able to get tickets for around $69 each way. I am wondering if that will happen again this year.

Anyone know the history of SWA to know if another decrease or BIG sale may happen for certain cities?

Whether discounts will be available is anyone's guess right now. Ridership is UP on SWA, so there may be no need to offer any deep discounts this spring. They also are codesharing with ATA, so they have additional pax to fill the planes.

If you can grab a deal now, take it. It may or may not be there tomorrow.

I will say that fares are higher overall. The Internet Fare sale from Nashville is running $94 each way which is higher then in past years.

If you are flying out of Nashville the $49 fare is getting harder and harder to find. (Can't recall the last time I did see it!)

Actually, I remember last year, SWA had the $39 fare each way between Nashville and Orlando...all I know is that it was NOT anywhere near the timeframe we were going (Jan. - early Feb.) I keep hoping that it will pop up again between now and October...or else it's our first ever driving trip to WDW!

I got one of those tickets, but I think that is now the exception rather then the rule and it has to be a SLOW travel time (which that time of the year is) They have not offered much lower lately.

If you check the website for SWA every Tuesday, they post their weekly specials. I always book with SWA at their current rate and then watch for a sale. They will give you a refund back to your credit card if your flight is on special.

They will give you a refund back to your credit card if your flight is on special and the original fare was a refundable fare. If it was a non-refundable fare, Southwest will give you credit for use on a future Southwest flight ("ticketless travel" funds) that must be used within one year of the date of your original ticket purchase.

I've been watching the fares like a hawk and over the last three weeks they have steadily gone up in price.

We always purchase the Inernet Special Non-refundable fares and have always had a credit back to our credit card. You just have to ask. They will even give you the credit before you fly if you ask. Otherwise, they will tell you they will issue the credit after you complete your flights. We always book SWA as soon as we know when we need flights and then watch for the sales.

Hi!

I got great fares from Song Airline - I reserved 5 tickets for June 28th returning on July 7th..the grand total was $677! :Pinkbounc . I haven't seen anything less than that!

Can't wait to leave for Disney!

Been there, tried that. Didn't work. When our flight price went down, I called SWA and asked for the difference to be credited back to the card that was used to purchase the tickets. I was told that because the fare I had originally purchased with was non-refundable, I could only get a credit for future travel on SWA that was good for one year from date of original ticket purchase. I bet if you call and ask SWA if this is their policy with non-refundable fares, they will tell you that it is. I wish that when I had called I had gotten a customer service rep. that didn't follow policy so I could have gotten the credit card refund, but unfortunately I didn't. This is a classic YMMV.

Technically they don't have to give you a refund just a credit. Some people have gotten lucky, but it is probably at the whim of the agent.

I checked for some sale fares this morning for my April-May trip and nothing. I caught a snippet of news the other evening about how some airlines are increasing their fares by $10, NWA was one that I remember them mentioning. I don't know if it was a gas surcharge or what. I wish I could have caught the whole report. It lessens my hope for sales in the near future. At least I have my flight booked at $79 each way and I guess I should be happy with that.

We just booked SWA for $132 RT HOU to MCO!! I have never gotten such a great rate on SWA.

Good for you! We got $98 RT from Philly to MCO last July. I am hoping for the same deal this year!
