Boooo...flights just opened up today and the returning flight is so,d out for the wanna get away fare. It's over $400 one way if I select another option. Not sure what to do except maybe skip this year. :(

Bummer - which date were you looking for? Did you check Airtran? Or another airline?

I would keep checking. They may add more flights tomorrow. It was cheaper to stay an extra night than fly back the original date I had chosen.

From PHL the non stop flight schedule for August is very limited compared to the June and July schedules. You would think they have to add more flights:confused3. So hold on maybe they will. Just keep checking! pixiedust:

Having the same problem with the non stop wanna get away flights out of Islip! Called SWA and they said "Maybe" the flights were not released yet. Geez, don't they know???

The same for us. Which was weird because we were looking to come home on a Thursday. The Friday flight was cheaper and that's Labor Day Weekend. I thought Friday would have been more expensive.

I'll keep checking. Still having a problem with SIL's flight:(

I wouldn't count on more flights, they rarely do that. From what I've heard, they are pulling back in Philadelphia in favor of Baltimore.

FYI - I saw on travel tools that the next release will be on May 19 for flights through January 4. That should be the last AirTran release.

Not likely. Once the schedule is released, that's it. The only possibility may be a change due to the AirTran merger.

It could be they were never offered. Sometimes for very popular flights they dont offer the wanna get away fares.

I am having the same problem with Islip also!! I booked going down at 6:45am  because that was the only nonstop for the day not sold out. The nonstops coming home are all sold out of the wanna get away fares. Not sure if I should just book the flight with the layover or be patient. I have never had this problem before. Also the schedule for the day has less flights than usually. Uggg

Several people (including myself) bought tickets for Oct. yesterday morning. By early afternoon, many of our flights were sold out for the wanna get away fare. I am glad I didn't hesitate. This will be our first time on Southwest. Good luck!

Same, I booked three for BWI-MCO after waffling for a few hours, after I booked the fare was sold out. So glad I decided to go ahead.

Same here - I checked flights in the morning and they were more in the afternoon and sold out today.

Keep checking your flights. My nephew and his friend decided to join us. Our flights were sold out. We booked them on other flights for different days. Our flights did open up and we were able to change them to fly with us. This was out of Islip. There is hope. I was checking about 30 times a day. It took about a week or so but both flights finally opened up.

I was online when the flights opened and the Wanna Get Away flights were already saying Sold Out.

I booked (4) Wanna-Get-Away tickets from FNT-MCO and then (4) more from MCO-FNT. My sister went online within a half-hour and the MCO-FNT leg is sold out. I told her to at least get their tickets from FNT-MCO and then, if they have to, they can always fly back a day later, which still has 4 tickets available at the lower price. She, too, is using her SWA points so I told her that she can change her plans later if she wants to, or if something better comes up, but she should jump on the available tickets NOW, while they're available:goodvibes.

We were planning on flying out of GRR, but NO more non-stops and the prices are ridiculous:crazy2:. The fare out of FNT is $111 each way, compared to $248 out of GRR. The FNT flight is also a non-stop, which is great, but it departs at 6:50am, which is a wee bit early for the 2-11 year old crowd:joker:.

On a related note, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I still have 7,800 points in my Marriott rewards account which is enough to cover our "night-before-flight" stay at the Fairfield Inn:cool1:. My budget is coming together nicely:thumbsup2.

I think the terminology being used here is confusing.

1. A flight is sold out means just that, it's sold out there are NO seats available.

2. Flights may not have wanna get away fares. They don't have to offer them on every flight and if they think they can sell at "higher" prices they won't. But that's not "sold" out, it's more like "SW wants more then I want to pay"

So when you say "sold out" does that mean NO seats or "more then I want to pay" Because the latter has nothing to do with sold out and more to do with "no cheap seats" :confused3

OP (and several others) have stated that the wanna get away fares are sold out, not the flights. :thumbsup2

I booked when flights first opened. I just checked and our flights are sold out for the "wanna get away" prices. That is after the flight prices JUMPED $30-$50 per leg. Glad I got up at 5am and stalked the site.
