I'd be very interested in what you booked. You mentioned coupons (UA I think.) Is that what you did? We don't have the options of Song, Airtran and Jetblue, that many of the other posters here have. It is more difficult from alb. :wave2:

Oh, in case anyone hasn't seen it, a moderator at "flyertalk" predicts tomorrow at 10am CT. He posted a sticky on the SWA boards yesterday.

I hope it is soon! I would have bailed already too if someone in Indianapolis was offering good rates. We have been flying NWA, but their rates have gone up really high! So we can't afford them any more.

Right now SWA is my only hope, otherwise we are driving.

Arg! I think I'm going to have a heart attack if they don't release REALLY soon! We are doing a birthday trip w/another family for our boys and can't really afford to send everyone across the country at $600/person (which is what JetBlue, American, Alaska, and United are all charging) but SWA prices are around $250/person which makes it possible! We are doing an unveiling w/the boys this weekend....would be nice to know if we are actually going by then!

We can't drive it and the train would take an entire week to get there and back...so flight is all we've got (furthest possible point in continental US from WDW!).

My prediction is November 1st. Their current promotion runs until October 31st. They'll let that promotion end and then open up until May or so.

Is this a guess, a rumor, or do you know something???

No, I don't have any inside information. I wish I did.
It's a guess based on what I've learned about SW by frequenting the SW forum on flyertalk.

Over the past 3 years(excluding the last extension), they've always extended their schedule when the number of days left in the current schedule was between 112 and 135. When they did the last extension, they were down to 105 days and that variation was likely due to Katrina related changes.

So here's why I think it will be tomorrow:
1. As of today, there are only 100 days left in the schedule.
2. They announced the addition of Denver last week and said they would have details on the Denver routes and schedule this week.
3. They typically extend their schedule on Thursdays, although there are exceptions.

Basically, I just can't see them waiting until next week.

It is still just a guess, but hopefully I'm right. I did give up and get other flights last week because they were the same price as the best fares I could possibly expect to get from SW ($229 RT including tax from the west coast) and only slightly more inconvenient. But my mom and sister are spending the first half of the trip with us and from the airports near them, SW is the only thing likely to be under $400. They may be able to save some money by flying a day earlier or later. So I'm still waiting for SW because I can't finalize our hotel plans until I know exactly what days my mom and sis are going to be there.

I used most of my DH FF miles and 4 vouchers (35 each) I had from a price decrease last year(even after the $100 price adjustment on US Air).

I was able to get DH and #1son on a United flight ALB-chicago-mco mco-dulles-alb and #2 son and I are on a US Air flight alb-pitts-mco mco-charlotte-alb. We all leave at the same time on both trips and only the arrival to mco am I waiting for 1 hour for DH/#1son (I figured I would rent the car in that time), and our flight home we arrive within 20 minutes of each other. I only ended up paying $160 for the balance of one ticket...the others were free.
I really wish Albany would pick up the pace with some of these other carriers, but my new stragety is show me the frequent flyer miles. I also am with Citizens Bank(charter one, albank) and have enough mega rewards to get a free airline ticket...so I am going to look into that for next year.
I will be in Latham tomorrow for breakfast!!! I'll wave hi to you down the road in Niskayuna!!!! :wave2:
