SWA DING Question

Quick Question about DING. I have a roundtrip reservation for December on SWA. My question is if DING offers a cheaper price in a few months for ONE WAY of my trip, how would I go about cancelling only one portion of my reservation to get the cheaper price oneway? If I cancel the entire trip and try to rebook, I am afraid that my return flight will not be as loqw because it is midday. The outgoing flight is late at night, so there is a chance that it will get a DING fare.
