No. You can buy early bird checkin and they will automatically check you in at 36 hours. $12.50 per person each direction requested.

Family boarding (children four and under and an adult although sometimes it's the whole family and sometimes it's cancelled) is after group a and before groups b. Early bird simply checks you in at 36 hours before the flight (so before everyone else) it does not guarantee you will be in group a. You are not guaranteed to be seated next to your children. If you want the best chance at sitting next to your kids pay for early bird.
I would also go to the southwest website and watch boarding school. It explains the whole process

Keep in mind that there are times when flying SW to Florida, they will not have preboarding for families with children. Preboarding is not guaranteed and could be cancelled if the flight has too many families (all of which are probably going to Disney or Universal). At that point they will cancel the family boarding all together. Your best bet is to purchase the EBC.

Based on the information in your signature you don't qualify for family boarding since your children are over the age limit.

Re: EBCI, those who purchase EBCI are checked in automatically 36 hours out and their boarding position is assigned based on when they purchased EBCI. Your ticker indicates you have a trip in just over a week. If you are flying Southwest on that trip, I'm not sure it's worthwhile to purchase EBCI at this point. Purchasing it this close to your travel date is going to put you at the end of the EBCI line unless you purchased an Anytime fare and EBCI in which case you would be ahead of those who purchased Wanna Get Away fares plus EBCI.

It might be worthwhile to purchase EBCI now if you cannot be online at EXACTLY 24 hours from departure to check yourselves in for your flight so that you can secure the best possible boarding position.
