If my niece decides not to go on our trip after I've bought the flights on SWA, can I have her removed from the reservation without having to cancel the whole reservation? Do I need to call SWA directly to do this or can I do it online without messing up the rest of the ressie? Thanks. I've never had to cancel anything before, but traveling with extended family and there have been some issues with them. Trying to get my ducks in a row in case it happens.

I am pretty sure you can cancel hers without messing with yours. Just some other information, if you bought the wanna get away fare (or any other non-refundable fare) she (your niece, not the person who paid for it) will get a credit to use with in 1 year from the date of purchase (not the cancellation date). I completely understand the non-refundable part and that you can't get a refund (on a non-refundable fare) but I hate that it has to be used by the person's name on the reservation not the person who paid for it!!

If you can't separate them online, I know you can do so with a phone call because I have had to do it before.
We now use our reward points for all reservations that are for someone other than my husband or me. You can get them fully refunded to your account if the other person has to cancel to be reused by you, not the person that you reserved the flight for. I've even bought the extra points I needed if I'm shy of enough just for the assurance that the money spent on the ticket won't be totally lost. I really miss the old days when the travel funds could be used by another person.
