Have a co-worker, friend or family member check you in online. You can reprint your boarding passes at the airport at one of the kiosks, then get in line to check your luggage.

I travel SWA at least once a month for work and have only had one bad flight (a man wouldn't move to let me sit by the window, but that wasn't the airline's fault). I find it extremely easy to use, but you'll find line-jumpers at every gate. As long as you're an A, you should be fine.

Also, remember that you are only able to check in 24 hours in the time zone you're staying in. For example, if you're flying from Orlando to San Francisco, you have to check in for your return flight home on San Fran's time, NOT Orlando.

The problem is, I'll be on a cruise, not a resort.

I think the answer is to ask a relative whom you trust who's not going to check you in from home at the right time.

Anyone able to answer my question:

I'll need to preboard for medical reasons. Traveling with DD10, DD14, and DD15, no other adult. Will any of them get to preboard with me. It would be helpful to have one at least, to help me/carry my bag down the aisle. If they treat the older kids as "adults," do you think I'll be able somehow to save seats for them so we can all sit together?

HappyCampertoO, I can't imagine that your 10 year old can't preboard with you. The older two can sit by themselves if need be.

No, but there's an Internet Cafe onboard, for I want to think about $.30/minutes you can check yourself in--my guess is that it would take 3-4 minutes.

But what you don't seem to understand is that I do not know exactly where I'll be 24 hours before the flight, and I might not have easy access to the internet cafe, especially if we are at Castaway Cay that day. I would not want to waste a lot of time, given how limited the time is.

I think that even if guest services would have checked you in, as they would have at a land-based resort, you'd still have to GO THERE at the right time to request it.

If you have no one at home to ask, your best bet is going to be to accept one of the kind offers of these other DISers (I think on the other thread), or go with the boardfirst service.

You really don't have to check in exactly 24 hours before the flight time. I've checked in 16 hours before and still gotten an "A" pass. Based on that you'll be fine.

It isn't a major problem. It is only a major problem if you make it one.
