SWA has posted their birthday sale ("Celebrating 42 years of LUV for you") on the website stating "Fares from $59 nationwide". I see no sale on any of our dates or flights. Prices higher than they were last night on some. Boo! Hope somebody is finding a deal.

 I was hoping for a GREAT deal today but looks like prices aren't going to come down for us. We need 9/23-9/30 from BKG to MCO. Should have booked a month ago when price was about $230 per person. Now we are at about $283 per person. I miss the bargain flights on Airtran for $175 per person.

The Birthday sale puts the prices from PIT to MCO back up to where they usually are.

I'm so glad I didn't wait and booked at last week's price.

Thank you Dis friends for the heads-up on the last sale.

A flight I'm watching from BUFF to MCO was $91 this morning, and $125 now.. not 2 hours later.

Not great for me either. Looking at Sept 21 from MCO to Buffalo. JetBlue's 2 day sale hasn't budged the price either. I am still waiting tho. We just flew JB to Orlando in mid May. Booked at ~$230. The price ended up going down to $185. Called & got $55 credits. That same flight is now $257.

I checked & there are still over 70 seats available, so I going to keep watching. I have seen the prices drop very late on a Thursday night several times- that's when I have gotten my credits. So I will check at off times.

I used the $55 credits to book our flight down just last Wed night- flight had been $197 & went down to $$147!! Grabbed it! So I really think I have a chance for better rates for my return.

OMG:furious: I can not believe the sale is not available to/from Philadelphia! I am so tired of SWA, if they continue with Philadelphia airport or not I am done with them. I already have half our flight trying to figure out coming home. Once I fly this year with them, it's our last year flying with them.:(

I'm not seeing any good rates either flying from MKE. Was hoping to use credits to book an earlier flight but no go with this sale ughhhh!

Me too! I need a flight from PHL-MCO August 4- they are at $180 right now, I booked my flight home for $120. I'm going to continue to wait. :(

Wow, $120 coming home that's great! We are staying an extra night to get a lower rate and its still high at $196. I know the time of yr probably has a lot to do with it, but I never expected these prices.

Our flight home to Phl on August 23 is $288!! Per person, one way!! I have never paid that much. I keep checking every day and will have to break down and pay that soon I guess. Awful.

I was disappointed too so I checked the fine print...

Only good for NONSTOP flights from Aug. 26 through Dec. 18, 2013, not including Fridays or Sundays (and some blackouts).

If you look at the city rates for the sale, you can see the $59 fares are only for main hubs/short flights. The complete list is here:

Sale

Hope everyone gets some better fares soon!

:goodvibes

That is why we changed our flight from Sunday to Monday to come home. The flight was $356 to come home:scared1: No why, no how!

We bought going in to Tampa at $124 n coming home in to Baltimore for $128 today with the sale. Even with car rentals we are saving a ton of money. If flights go lower then we will switch around. going in to MCO and back to PHL. If not I am happy what we got $252 a person round trip compare to $611 a person round trip.

We got 2 one way flights. PHL to MCO 11:30am on 9/27..........and return flight MCO to PHL 4:30pm on 10/5............total $247 per person.:cool1:

Right now same flights are $366 per person.

Sure glad we didn't wait for these so called sales.

Can't comment on any sale this week but they had a good sale last week. Normally it would cost us around 300 pp round trip and we got two rt for 265 in September. I did find it strange that normally we fly non stop from Birmingham as wel as on the return. This trip we fly Birmingham to Baltimore to Orlando. Return is Orlando to Houston to Birmingham. You would think they would fly straight since they lowered the price.

Due to the Wright Ammendment, Southwest can not fly direct/nonstop from Dallas to Orlando, so we seldom get decent prices for Southwest. The only good thing about them is that last week when Southwest had their sale, they apparently scared American Airlines into competing with them. The day Southwest sale fares came out, American dropped their prices for a few days too.:rotfl: I was able to grab direct/nonstop flights on American for $274.00 for my Sept trip and $245.00 for our Dec trip.

I just now checked and those exact same flights I booked last week (direct/nonstop flights with perfect times) are now $324.00 for the Sept flights and $414.00 for the Dec flights on AA.

No sales here either. Last weeks fall sale was $18 cheaper with flights at $99. They are $117 today. I know it's not a huge difference, but when you were expecting something better, it stinks!

I bought our tickets last week for a trip we decided to take next month. I figured if prices dropped for a sale that I would just take the credit difference for our trip in October. The sale wasn't a sale for us at all. Our flights went up 4 dollars.....

No help here either! I wish we'd get some competition into Islip Airport. Maybe then SWA would offer better fares like they used to. I know we will not see the $59 fares but some of our flights are $180 plus one way; some even higher for our August trip. Plus, they have discontinued many of our non-stop flights to and from Orlando. :( We did get $140 fares both ways which I consider just ok but I don't know if I am willing to pay more for these flights. We might have to reconsider the way we travel in the future unless we have enough rapid rewards.
