"Some of you may have noticed a change in the language about this on your receipts and at southwest.com. We know some of our Customers had voiced their displeasure over the elimination of the transferability waiver we had been offering; however, we feel complying with our longstanding Contract of Carriage procedures is important. There is a delay in implementing the software upgrades to prevent transferability, due to reprioritizing our Technology needs. No date has been set for implementation."

I read this on flyertalk.com, it's dated Jan. 17. Does anyone know if it's still true? We're thinking of giving my husband's ticket to our daughter. The trip is in one week but the prices are going up quickly and I'm afraid of loosing what we have now.

Yes, this is true. I just used funds from my husband's cancelled flight in May for my niece. He is not going to be able to go to Disney with me in May. Was so suprised and happy to find out that we could do this!!!!!!!!!!
