I booked a good internet price, and then got a Ding. quickly cancelled the flight, had the ticketless funds instantly on the account, then booked the Ding fare, using the ticketless funds. Then I noticed the ding was good the other way, so booked that using the leftover funds from the price change, and a bit more money.
Alas, we've now decided to drive. I called to ask for an exception (only the fully refundable fares are supposed to be refunded; the others are on your account for one year), and was told flat out NO. Even though others replied to a thread I started that they were able to get refunds on non-refundable fares. Oh well!
Now we have airfare just sitting there for our December trip.
Hope I answered you.
