SW Rapid Rewards question

I booked our flights on SW for October today! We've never flown SW before. My husband did have a SW account already, so I used that to book. The email confirmation has his Rapid Rewards number listed for him, but for the other 6 people in our party it says "Join or Login". I went ahead and created an account for myself and connected the Rapid Rewards number to that ticket. I'll have my parents do the same. But the other travelers are our 3 kids. Do I have to create an account for each of them as well go get those rewards?

If my husband and I want to go on a solo trip later this year or next year, can we transfer those rewards from the kids to our accounts?

Yes, you'll need to create an account for each person in order to accumulate Rapid Reward Points. Points are specific to an individual. You cannot combine points from multiple accounts and use them for a ticket for someone else. At least not directly. You can transfer points from one account to another, but there is a fee for doing that; $5 for every 500 points. Unless the number of point you need to transfer is small, it'll be more expensive transferring points around than it will be to just purchase a ticket directly.
