SW price raise as I was paying

I was just trying to finish up getting our plane tickets done for our Dec trip. I was on the SW web site. I always book our tickets separate in case one of us has to cancel or reschedule.

I finished getting one ticket at a fair but not great price and started to put in the credit card for the second ticket and the price went up! PHOOEY!

I guess I will wait and see if the price drops before I get the second ticket. It was so frustrating! I have never had that happen before.

I had that happen to me this summer when I was booking my son's trip on American. So frustrating, sorry this happened to you too!

Yes it stinks but it does happen quite frequently. Often there are only x number of seats available at a certain price and once those seats are sold the price jumps to the next level. It sounds like you got the last seat at that price.

I called SWA when it happened to me in the middle of buying my tickets.They told me that the ticket price isn't locked in until the credit card info is confirmed.

You can get an idea (not guaranteed) whether you can book all the tickets at the low price you first saw by starting to book two more seats than you need all in one package. Then back out and book them one at a time or however you wanted.

When you book a group of seats and there are not enough at the lowest price, you will be quoted the next price for the entire group.

Very frustrating, but very common. As the others have said, the lowest advertised airfare price is often just ONE seat...anything after that is booked at the next higher rate. I've had it happen before as well. GRRRR!!!
