Does anyone know when SW posted their Oct-Nov fares last year?? I think it was June, but I can't find my old purchase information.

Thanks,
Bonnie:flower3:

Thanks for the information...I knew someone would have it. I am booking flights this year not only for our family but 3 other families as well (and 2 are in different states), I need to keep an eye on things...

is it best price wise, to book as soon as rates are available? I don't want to pass an offer waiting for another, as we have a large party of peopel to book for? Should i book as soon as fares are released for best price! :confused3

I was wondering the same thing. I really don't feel like booking a flight for $264 pp (not including taxes and fees) on USair. :scared:

I am hoping to get a much cheaper rate with southwest when fares become available around July.

I have found that in the past the BEST rates are released around 8 weeks before your trip on SW...but if you aren't watching you can miss them.
The other best time to book is immediately when the new fares are posted. Then they go up within 2-3 days until that 8 week period drop. With SW, if you catch that lower rate, you can re-book with no fees and use the credit for next time.
We go to WDW 2 times a year so it works for us, if we get the credit, I can always use it. Our friends who went in Nov were unable to use their credit, so they passed it on to us. I changed our May trip and applied the credit for the > cost.
Good luck

come on southwest- I need dates for 9/16-9/23. Right now AirTran has a non-stop from Buffalo for 197 roundtrip- this isn't a bad price, just hoping for cheaper fares through southwest. I will probably book airtran though- I guess I have to look a gift horse in the mouth, lol.

OK. My question is this: Our family will be flying out of PIT on December 9 and flying back on December 16. Do I buy on-way tickets for the flight down and then when Southwest releases the dates for our return flight, buy the return flight then or do I wiat until mid-August and book RT?
:confused3

I was told you should always book one-way flights on SW, that way it is easier to take advantage of a DING that comes through. We have been lucky that our flights have come up at the same time. If you are anxious about rates, I would personally book the one-way until the other date gets posted.

I would definately book the one way fare. It is so much easier to change your flight if a lower rate comes along. I have done this for 3 years with no problem. If a lower rate comes along one way you have to try and book the whole thing again.Good Luck!

Winniethepoohsmom & Crazy4Disney06 I am in the same situation and on the edge of my seat. I need a one way on 8/26 home b/c I got a $49.00 flight out on 8/17 on Air Tran. I keep checking every day on all lines!!! Soooooo frustrating:headache:

Actually leaving a day early to take advantage of the $49 fare on SWA PHL - MCO 8/24. I booked within the first few hours of the sale being posted. Now I need a return flight on 9/1. I really want $49 again!!!! I think I paid $59 on return last year to BWI and that was after rebooking the sale price.

Does it seem like they release new dates on Thursdays?

Do they always send a Ding to announce when dates open up? I think they did the last time in February....

I'm looking for flights from RDU to MCO on November 24th and returning to RDU on December 2nd. Maybe we could start a thread named SW release dates kinda like the resort code thread? :goodvibes
