SW Open Prices High

We have the same dates! Also got up this morning and was dismayed at SW prices. Thought I would be able to get something lower. However, was able to save $300 for 2 tickets by flying out of Austin. Have a good trip!

We truly thought there was a mistake on the site. The first time I logged in I got this message: Published scheduled service between (Orlando - MCO) and (Baltimore - BWI) will be discontinued on 03/06/2015. Please select an alternate date or choose another origination/destination. Please visit the Southwest Airlines interactive route map for alternate choices. (SW100102-bnK9efLwRNOPLooz8rMwFw)

But, no mistake about rates. Luckily we have optional airports and airlines, but many do not. It amazed us that mid week flights are 113.00 and weekend are 363.00. I know all about demand but a 250.00 difference is absurd.

Our WDW dates at April 4-11, 2015 for DS's band trip. We went ahead and booked the down flights, return ones are not open yet, with our points. It was weird. We could book one for $179 and the other two were $206 out of Akron-Canton. When I said I wanted 2 tickets it cost $206. When I put in one ticket it was $179. So we booked one at the lower price and one with the higher price with DH points and then one ticket, it was as $206 too, on my points. I thought after the first one it gave the lower rate that it may come up at the lower rate on the others but it didn't. We saved a few points so it was better. I can only hope they come down a little bit before the return flights open up.

I'm amazed that many of you thought airlines released low inventory prices with schedule extensions anymore. There is no need to do that anymore as the competition has all been cut in half by mergers and liquidations.

I am going to Disney in January and my flight is exactly half of what I am paying for the end of March/first of April (week before Easter). Same airline. I'm not willing to drive so I will pay, but it was pretty shocking.

Yep, I just jumped on here too to check reactions, because I'm still in shock over yesterday. We fly SW to Orlando all the time and I always snag a deal. This particular trip for a spring break cruise is actually Milwaukee to Fort Lauderdale. My jaw about hit my desk when I saw the rates. They are more than 3X what I'm paying for the same airports/same days of the week for a cruise in January.

I managed to snag some non-stops home for a fairly decent price at a lousy time (8:45 pm) but the flight there is going to be up in the air for a while. I'll stalk all airlines daily because NO WAY am I willing to pay over $300pp one way. Pretty confident I can find something better if I ride it out, because we have a lot of flexibility on timing.

UGH!
