Unfortunately it's not in the budget, for the flight times we need 1st class would be almost $2,000 for just one person.

Additionally, SW is the only direct so instead of being a 2hr flight it would be 8hrs with a layover :-/

I'm honestly thinking we'll just do the draw straws for the middle and squish. None if us are going to complain and then we don't have to worry about anybody getting accused of cheating the system either.

Also, they do let one other person preboard with you! If you have more than two people though I would suggest not booking together because you can't checkin and get seating assignments 24 hours in advance with the extra seat, you must check in at the terminal. Hope that helps.

So purchasing an extra seat falls under the medical preboard group? Two of us traveling; I purchased 3 seats. There was no way for me to know online that I can't checkin online. Actually, I had to include my middle initial for the system to allow me to book more than one seat for myself.

I will gladly sit towards the back - I'm used to choosing those seats in the first place, hoping that nobody will sit in the middle. Glad I don't have to do that, but you're saying that I'd be on the pre-board list? Sorry for the confusion, but it's been a long time since I've flown SW.
