We are flying out of Albany on Tuesday Aug 21. The current fare is $69. I think I should hold out alittle longer, at least until it drops to $59. I always book at the higher price and end up with a credit. But, I would really love to just wait them out. Am I crazy? All this stress over 30 bucks.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: DH says I should just stop being so cheap and book it.

I would book if the times and flights are what you want. You never know with SW sometimes they go down and sometimes they go up real fast.

Book it! I would love a $69 fare - I've been waiting for one out of Buffalo for July, but so far it's still $168 EACH WAY!!! The most I've paid in the last three years is $89 each way, so if you think you're stressed, try paying what I might have to!!:scared1: I watch my Ding! religiously every day - my Dsis just got airfare a few weeks ago for June at $50 each way, but I'd be happy with $89 right about now! So at $69 :woohoo: book away!!! (You can always use any credits as an excuse for a quick getaway later!)

Book it. If the fares go down and you are not able to book the lower fare (things happen), you may lose both! :sad1: SWA fares go VERY quickly (I know from sad experience). Stop stressing - you will feel better if you just get it over with!

I would book it. I was lucky last year and all of my credits went back on my credit card.

Dang it, against my better judgement I booked it.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

No, I betcha a dollar I get a ding for $49 each way.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

If you get a ding for the exact same flight (day - time - everything), they will credit your card back. I have done this myself several times. Also, there is always a tax or security fee (I'm not sure what it is) that is refundable immediately when you cancel a flight. If so, take that credit immediately, then rebook the ding with your leftover funds - that will probably cover any credit you would have had coming back anyway. Good luck - and keep an eye out for those dings. :yay:

OP - THANK YOU!

I booked right away out of Albany for our September trip. Because I wanted to have certain flights/times. I knew I would likely be able to cacel and rebook and have a SW credit before the trip (and I am taking my son sometime soon - plus we are going again early 08).

I was thinking "My flights were way more than $69, so I just went and checked, and sure enough, our prices dropped to $69 each way! SO, I cancelled and rebooked and now have a $200 credit. THANKS!

That's awesome :thumbsup2

I have tried several times to get credit put back onto my card, but I have only been sucessful once.

I booked our trip out of Albany for September today too. I'll take the credit if it goes lower toward out family trip in January.

We are taking 2008 off (buying AKL DVC in 2009 so we're saving up) so we won't use the credit.
