Hi all. Thanks in advance for the help with this one.

I'm wondering...when one makes a reservation with southwest, then a better fare comes along, and you change flights....when you get the "credit to be used within the next year"....

is that a certain amount for each PERSON, and that PERSON has to use it for another flight, OR

because I'm the one making the reservation, would all the money be available to ME to book flights in the next year? (ie...if my daughter's tix get a credit because the new price is lower, do I have to use that credit for another flight for HER?)

Does that make sense?

Also...my parents are going to be flying from a different airport than us for our Sept trip. We would like to buy their airline tix. Can I purchase them online with my credit card? Some other airlines want to see the credit card used for purchase at the airport (and we obviously won't be there) to avoid fraud....???

You can use different people's credit cards. I have used my wife's card to book my business travel before and she wasnt' flying with me at the time.

In regards to the refunds, the refund can be used by anyone as long as they know your original confirmation number and the name of the credit card used to make the reservation. So you could use the credit from more than one ticket as long as you know these two things. I have cancelled flights for my family and then used their credits to pay for my tickets for work. Southwest is pretty easy to work with.
