Has anyone received Dings for Orlando? We love SW, but the fares for March and April from BWI haven't been the best. I suppose we'll give it another day or two and then book with Air Tran or Jet Blue from IAD.

I have never caught a Ding but isn't it too early yet for March & April?:confused3 We usually book AT from BWI for about $129 round trip but not for spring break!! They were over $300 when their schedules came out. We booked SW going down as they beat AT by about $70 pp on what I wanted but we booked AT coming HOME 'cuz I snagged a one-way $59 price. I priced everything out of IAD too 'cuz we could go to either airport but I didn't like the flight times there.... Jet Blue is almost always higher...I like them but they've only been the best price once for us so far.

So far, the DINGs I've received have just been good through Feb. 27th. I haven't seen any later dates yet.

You're right. It's probably too early. but I've been curiously checking and haven't seen any for February.

Southwest from Providence for April 16th - 24th .They want $2400+ for 4 round trip :scared1:

It is school vacation week in most of New England so it is crazy at all the other airports. I will most likely drive 3 1/2 hours to New Jersey. Continental is $303 round trip per person.

We are going to try to look at schedules and pricing this weekend, but if things remain the same I think will have to forgo our late March/April trip to Disney this year. Since we can't take advantage of mid week travel because of jobs, the weekend pricing to just too high. Hopefully, we'll make it next year.

I also usually fly out of BWI, but priced AT for spring break from DCA - $143 round trip! SW was almost 3 times that for the same dates from BWI! And I thought they were competitors...

I've never used AT, but for the savings we are probably booking it from DCA this year.

I always price check / compare BWI, Dulles & DCA but have never USED DCA. I looked on day of both AT & SW releases...booked both on day 1. When I looked at the DCA flights they all said "subject to Govt approval". I don't know what that's about but I wasn't willing to book anything that was "subject to Govt approval"!! I want to know I have my flights confirmed!!! Maybe DCA is always like that? :confused3 We normally can get Air Tran from BWI for about $130 round trip - but we don't normally fly over holidays or spring break. I adjusted our dates once I started pricing diff. days. We're going down on Fri. nite after work / school on 3/26 and spending 6 nights - flying home on Thurs 4/1. When I looked into our DVC points Fri & Sat were still in a lower season. The peak season started on Sun. SO even tho the weekend points are higher it only cost us 3 more points to back it up a day or two. Plus we'll be out of there before the worst crowds start. AND flying on Thurs. is one of the cheapest days to fly...

I keep kayak.com alerts on so I can fare watch for price drops...I see Air Tran has come down a little on SOME of their flights...but when they first released their round trips for that week were mostly all over $300!! They're about half that now.

Would you consider flying out of Islip on Long Island? You can drive to Bridgeport and take the ferry over. It looks like it would be around $114 per person one way.

HTH!

I looked at Islip and Continental out of Jersey. I never did the ferry but I may leave Thursday night and get a room and then to the airport in the morning as I want the first flight out.

Today i booked Buffalo-Orlando April 13-20th for $64 each way!!! Amazing price..I haven't been getting any dings latley..

Glad I'm not the only one!

I've been waiting and waiting for what I consider a decent fare for our trip from BDL 2/4-2/9 and so far nothing.

Today I booked our march trip because rates seemed to be going up.

Plently of availability for Feb still, so I'll wait a couple more weeks... until I'm close to inside the 14 day advance.

I'd really like to get something for closer to $200 RT rather than $260 RT

I've not seen a ding for MCO/IAD in a long time---actually don't remember when. IAD has been offering $54 and $59 fares, so no need for a ding I guess.

We are flying 2/26 & 3/2...from ISP to MCO still haven't seen a good ding fare for those dates..but I did catch a $79 wanna get a way fare ..so we booked that each way

I'm hoping for a Ding as well. Already have our flights booked MCI-MCO March 20 and returning the 27th. Booked the day they opened dates, but we really wanted to stay til the 28th. Got $59 fares each way, but if we tried to leave Sun it was MUCH more than that. So, I scooped up the cheap flights and figured we'd hope for a Ding later on. I'm with the others...either haven't seen any or they are only going through Feb. 27.

No, the DCA flight doesn't say that for airtran. It's $59 down, and $79 coming back. I am still hesitant, as if I book it and SW comes out with something even close, I'd rather do BWI (my best friend lives 10 minutes away, so I can go to her house and she'll drop us off and keep my car). SW is currently $157 each way. For the 3 of us (I'll book DH when he knows his exact work schedule in case he needs to do less days) that is a big difference - big! This is for March 13 to 20. We've paid that before for spring break, but not usually! I usually check so far ahead of time, but this trip was "last minute", as in only 2 months ahead of time planned (got 45% off the BWV, I'd never pay $610 a night but $335 is doable, so DH said go for it).

Still, I may book the $59 out of DCA nonstop, one way. I can get my DSil maybe to pick me and the kids up and drive us there. If it were really early I'd spend the night but it's 9am, so we can leave at 6am no problem, get there by 6:45am, should be okay (unless they recommend more time with security).

UGH. Never flown airtran, but with only two months out, will they change schedules? I want nonstop.

I cant believe how the costs are for March!! We were looking at flying out of Providence and Southwest tix would have cost $680 round trip for the 2 of us!!! It cost me less then that last year to fly to Puerto Rico for in March for our cruise! I just bought out tix today threw Jetblue outta Boston for 560 round trip, I just didn't see the tix going down. They just keep going up!!

I have a DING from New Orleans to Orlando on Monday-Thur and Sat March 1-31 for $66 and the same from Orlando to new Orleans!
If those rates come out for our trip in late April, I'm going to change our flight from Friday to Thursday.
