My companion pass is expiring at the end of the year. I got it two years ago using SWCC bonuses, SW Plus and SW Biz. I still have the Plus but canceled the Biz about a year ago. I would like to do the same to get a CP for 2020/21. What is a good strategy? Applying for the SW Priority Biz in early October with 80k SUB seems like a no brainer. But, I am not sure I understand the the current Chase rules for Southwest SUBs.
Thanks

In short, double check when your last bonuses posted. You are not available to earn a new bonus until 24 months after your bonus posted. You will also need to cancel your Plus card as rules these days prevent you from holding 2 SW personal cards.

If I already have a premier card (have had it for years), can I apply for a Plus and a Priority without canceling the premier? In the same situation as OP except that it is DH who got the cards and CP.

ETA: Oops! I see that this was already answered above. I would have to cancel the priority, if I'm understanding this correctly about not having 2 SW personal cards.

Correct, Chase has notes that the card is not available to you if you currently have any of the personal cards already on the application page. They make exception for the business cards. Currently each business card is counted separately so you could hold 3 SW cards at once as long as it's 1 personal (any flavor), 1 Biz Premier, and 1 Biz Performance.
Also, the card is not available if you've received a sign up bonus for any of the personal cards in the last 24 months. Since you said you had it for years I assume this isn't a problem for you.

For any one else curious, if you view the "Offer Details" link on the SW cards application it'll provide the criteria needed to get that card. For instance this is the language from the personal card offers:
The product is not available to either (i) current Cardmembers of any Southwest Rapid Rewards® Credit Card, or (ii) previous Cardmembers of any Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card who received a new Cardmember bonus within the last 24 months. This does not apply to Cardmembers of the Southwest Rapid Rewards Business Card and Employee Credit Card products.

Thank you. So theoretically I could apply for both business cards and keep my premier, but I'd have to sit down and figure out the spending and how worthwhile that might be to us at this point. Since we're planning a trip to Europe next summer, I might be better off with another card offer that would give us a break on those costs.

if you cancel a personal card, how long do you have to wait to reapply?
