SW boarding numbers

But the OP's three year old is the one with the B boarding pass. There should be no problem with the entire family, who all have A boarding passes, boarding in their spots, with one adult and the child in family boarding.

I agree. I was merely pointing out the correct definition of family boarding.

Actually, I don't see why anyone would care if the B pass family member boarded with the rest of the A pass family members. I very rarely fly SWA, so have no idea if this is a big deal.

It wouldn't be an issue on 99.9% of the flights. I mean, seriously, what person wouldn't let a 3 years old board with their family. And it really is a moot point since there is a 3 year old so they would qualify for family boarding. But some people on these boards (not just this thread) like to make mountains out of molehills I have found :rolleyes1

I agree, but believe it's important to point out that the 0.1% cases do happen and that people should be prepared to know their options when they do.
