Check it out! I was just doing a Priceline check and noticed they showed a full-size SUV for my dates (10/16-10/26) through Alamo for $410/total - normally it is $600+...checking it out on the site it is correct! Using the Walmart code (430710 and BY and the coupon code D24C) I just got it down to $340/total for 11 days!

HTH EVERYONE!

National's rates have also dropped for October, but Alamo came out lower for me still...

I was checking my existing ressie early today & switched over...

8 days, Oct. 8 returning late on the 15th...

mid size SUV = $201.98 - - $70 more than I paid for June rental but, still holding out hope. Compacts & full sizes were in same ball park.

Used Costco ID & $25 coupon in order to get 2nd driver free.

Entertainment came up the same w/o the free driver.

Do I have to present a Costco membership @ garage kiosk/EA using this code:rolleyes1 ?

thank you thank you thank you :yay:

I just saved $30 for my weekly rental and got a bigger car :thumbsup2

I was at $225 for a mid-size SUV from Oct 15-21

Now I have a standard size SUV for $195 :woohoo:

Of course I will keep checking but I'm happy with the $30!

Just an FYI, if you used a coupon make sure you have it with you. The last two times I rented from Alamo with the coupon they asked for it. I didn't have it the first time and they "warned" me to make sure I always had the coupon (they still gave me the discount).

The Walmart code I gave in the OP is 20% off and an additional driver. I don't know if you would be required to show ID using the Costco code...

Just got my minivan for $320 for 10 nights in october with the Walmart code. That is the best I have seen so far.

Thanks, I didn't know you got the extra driver included w/Wal-Mart too.:thumbsup2

I left off the By code, hoping something will pop up between now & then, the rate was the same w/just 430710 & the coupon.

Thanks. I just reserved a convertible for $175 (for the dates of 10/22 thru 10/27).

Usually rent with National - Didn't really want a convertible, and have never driven one before...

But I will be happy with the car if rates on the Intermediate Cars do not drop further before my trip.

I just realized I misquoted...the Walmart code is only giving 10% off...sorry! Glad it worked for you though...and now you don't need to renew your Costco account! :thumbsup2

Yay! I rebooked a midsize SUV this morning with the new lower rates, but had no idea that I could get a full size for just 20 bucks more total. So I switched to a full size SUV. I know my Dmom will be alot happier with more room! :teeth:

you know what confuses me, is all the other fees, i got a good rate of 156.00 a week for 3 weeks for a standard SUV my total is 578.00 after taxes and all that other stuff my dates are not until december though, but i think it will still drop more

those fees stink. truly. drives me crazy. LOL

Tell me about it, just looked at my recipt for a recent Hertz rental in Ft Myers, my cost for a Luxury car for 1 week was a dirt cheap $124 (I originally reserved a fullsize, but upgraded as this vehicle was what Hertz calls "on special"). Anyways, taxes and fees on my $124 rental were $48!!! Thats nearly 40%!!

I know what you guys mean. It's so sad! You get soooo excited because you see a GREAT rate...you click all the right buttons and POOF...you get slammed with taxes, tire fees, lot fees, a charge for keys, a charge for a steering wheel, a charge for seats, etc...

It is pathetic! :sad2:

Ok I used 430710 and BY and D24C and got a small SUV for 90+ but on coupon that I printed it had Contract ID #7011339 but I used the Walmart contract ID like you said is that OK too. Carol

We just got back and rented the Torrent SUV from Alamo.

I think it should be okay. Just make sure to print a copy of the coupon because I heard Alamo will definitely ask for it...

I just tried the contract code you gave from the coupon and it gave me the same rate as the walmart code sans the additional driver. If you don't need the additional driver and feel more comfortable using the code given with the coupon then you can do that...but I really don't think it is a problem at all...

HTH!

No problem! :goodvibes I'm not sure about the Quick Silver at Alamo. I wrote a post about it a few days ago and no one responded. I've heard it isn't as good as the Emerald Service at National, but it does save you time. I signed up since it was free...it basically wanted my DL number and phone number and age I think...

Sorry I can't be more helpful with all that stuff! :teeth:

Anyone know what they block out Quick Silver if you put it as one word like - ***********?

Thanks , I signed up too for the Quick thing but not sure how it worked. do you know anything about the prepay 10% discount? Did I have to do that when I made reservation or can I do it the week before I leave....sorry for all the questions.Did not want to get to the garage and find out there is a problem with coupon(I have printed it). DH isn't too into all this coupon deal stuff, thats my job and I try to get all the questions answered. We are getting the car to go to Vero for a few days before back to WDW for real vacation so needed the car for the beginning of the vacation. Thanks for trying to help I really appreciate it. Carol :goodvibes
