Survivor - Vanuatu

I was rooting for Twila but Chris was the better player. He was still playing all the way through to the end. Wonder how long he will stay with his girlfriend. And I wonder how much thought she will give to how easily he lied to everyone and how much does he really lie or not lie to her.

So Twila lied, big deal. So did everyone else, especially Chris.

Did you notice at the very end that Jeff walked right past Chris to Twila and gave her a big hug? And then it looked like he walked right past Chris again and left the stage. It seems that this whole season Jeff was sort of snippy at times.

The next Survivor looks real interesting.

I didn't catch The Early Show. Anything interesting said? I imagine Twila is ready to get out of the spotlight and back to real life. Especially since so much has been made out of her swearing on her son.

I watched the final episode and reunion show last night, but our channel switched to another show at the end before they announced next episodes location, etc. I was so bummed. Can anyone fill me in on where, when, etc for the next season.

they didn't mention when the next one was going to start but it is going to be in Palau with 20 people instead of 18.

On the Early Show this morning they mentioned the next Survivor will be in February. I don't think Twila looked any different than last night except that her hair wasn't as "poofy" on top. They were up very early, and they said they didn't really get any sleep. Chris' finace said that they have upped the budget for their wedding in February and are increasing the invitation list as everybody wants to come and she looked at Twila, Eliza and Scout when she said that.

During Chris' answers I kept saying to myself COME ON! Is anyone buying this BS? Apparently they were.

I know, he was really annoying me with all that.

It seems that this whole season Jeff was sort of snippy at times.

I personally would have rather had any of the other final 4 win instead of Chris. And at Tribal Council Twila could've had it, but she was digging her own grave with what she was saying. I guess like they said, she can't not be Twila.

Also on the Early Show they asked Twila what she was going to do with her $100,000 and she said she was going to use it to pay bills.

I'm actually glad Chris won. Mostly because I think it points out how we woman do not stick together. Why is that?
Anyway, I wish I would have seen Twila's hair this morning, because it really was bad last night. I agree with others who say you should not base your vote on need, but I think if it was me and I had a grudge with both of them, I think the "need" factor would weigh on my vote.

I don't think anyone is saying the person who needs it the most should win. We all know it is a game. I actually got mad at one season(can't remember which one) where some one mentioned a person not needing the money.

That was season 3 in Africa. There was one tribe where the younger survivors, led by Silas, voted off Karl, an older survivor, because he was a dentist and they felt he didn't need the money. That was also the first season where they switched tribe members to shake things up before the merge. Silas was just beginning to consolidate his power when he got traded, then booted at the very next TC.

edited to add... this may have happened in other seasons as well, but I remember it happening first in Africa.

I think that's the one--I think he mentioned his cars or something--he was a dentist from Orlando area--he and the sheriff's deputy from central florida got booted back to back.

I sorta remember some guy who was 'outted' for having money, because of the video from home, where his wife is in front of one of his two sports cars, saying how good she has taken care of them.... dont know which year... lol

Laurabearz, that was Brian - the winner of Survivor Thailand. I remember he was cringing when the other Survivors were seeing his home life and that he was doing pretty well financially.

For those who think Vanuatu was boring - - it was a million times better than Thailand!!!!!

I actually saw one, one night I was flipping through Cinemax and told DH Look it is whats his name from survivor! We had a good laugh over that one!

I wish Survivor would go back to the earlier ones..... This last season they all looked well kept, didn't look like they went truly hungry,

I mentioned to DH they haven't looked "starved" the past couple of seasons. I know before they go, they get a survival course...poisonous snakes, fruit, etc.... Maybe they are just scouting better locations with food on the island so they don't have to provide rice?? Not sure, but either way, I always thought it was interesting to look at them wither away to skinnyness and then be totally shocked at the reunion how different they all looked with their weight back on.

so how does everyone think they will shake things up? Maybe 4 groups of 5? Maybe other tribes will vote out instead of your own tribe? I would love to see something new. As everyone has said it is so predictable. ONe of the survivors said on the reunion show that before they hit the beach the alliances were formed and were strong. That isn't as fun anymore to watch.

With all the talk of food, I just realized that none of the Survivors on this season when fishing. Thailand that was the big thing, if you could catch fish you were staying. Not this time around.


I really hope they change this next season up in a bunch of ways. They tried the 3 tribe thing with the All-Stars. And I don't care for the same sex tribes. I think it is better when they mix them up.

Now that you mention that...Yeah I didn't see anybody fishing. I wonder why not? I am almost 100% sure I saw one of those fishing spears given out early in the game too! ??
Anyway's let's hope the next Survivor is a good one. I love watching Survivor. I didn't post too much to the "survivor thread" but maybe I will next time. The next Survivor is on the Island of Palau right?
