Survivor - Vanuatu

I missed tonights show. My DS (15) was suppose to set the timer for us because we had a wrestling meeting to go to but it didn't tape.

Would anyone be willing to let me know what happened tonight?

We were soooo disappointed when we sat down to watch and it wasn't there.

Another vote for underwhelmed this season--I just can't get into it. I was sad to see Rory go--he's annoying, but at least he puts his all into working around camp and doing the challenges.

I'm not surprised at all that Twila and Julie switched back to women--there were 6 women and 4 men, the math's not hard.

Did you see the preview for next week? It was starting to look like a Playboy spread with al the scantily clad women hugging and kissing (or maybe I jsut dont' get out enough...). Gee, I hope they keep it PG rated!

The only problem with Twilla and Julie voting for the women, is that Ami just keeps getting more power.

Now you know why Twilla and Julie were trying to get the guys to vote for Rory before Ami. That way the guys wouldn't realize that it was still going to be women against men.

Now the cat is out of the bag.

I was thinking about the vote this morning and I have a theory.

Twila has an agreement with Chad and Sarge, right? Rory was never a part of it. Twila also has to show a unity with the women. Maybe she figured since Rory was somewhat expendible by voting for Rory she wasn't showing her hand to the girls. If they knew she was siding with the guys, you know she would be voted off next by the girls. Maybe she's smarter than we are giving her credit for??? :scratchin

Julie will do whatever..she's a follower

Ami has got to go!!!!! I really don't like her (insert smilie with finger in throat here)

Scout....why are they keeping her around? She didn't even try in the first challenge. :confused3

Although I didn't want Rory to go................ he should have. He was very lazy up until the point where if he didn't do anything, then he would have nothing to complain about.

He's the type that rides on others glory and takes it for himself. Not a very good survivor skill.

I don't know why they keep Scout; she does not appear to be bright, insightful, athletic ~ so what's the mistique?

Ami - if she doesn't go soon, she will not be able to go. She is strong, a fighter and a manipulator.

LeeAnn - I like her, but she loses her strength early. She won't make it if she doesn't win challenges.

Chad and Sarge are scaredk straight! They thought they had this in the bag and now are the minority! This will be fun watching them sworm.

Chris seems likeable ~ but will the women need him or keep him around? He's the tamest of all of the men.

Personally, there are no beefcakes left, so I could care less who'll win. I like Twila, Julie and LeeAnn.

3 men left on the island?
dear LORD...ok - you KNOW a woman is going to win this year...unless sarge just wins immunity from here on out.

I'm with a lot of you. This season is just to dull and predictable. No twists, turns, or suprises. The players are flat. I don't even know most of their names.

I sure hope they do MUCH better casting the next survivor. You need "characters" like Rupert, Boston Rob, & that guy from a couple shows ago that said his Grandma died.

The person who wins this game is going to be the one who manipulates the most and the biggest manipulators are those that are the laziest.

I think next season, they should find a cast that speaks different lanugages. That would add some interest.

I hope Twila has a plan, because I think she was stupid last night. I am wondering if she is going to side with the men by trying to get Julie and Scout to switch back to the men and then pick off the rest of the women.

Scout is a natural to keep around until the final four. She probably won't win immunity, and she seems to do pretty much around camp. I wouldn't trust going up against her in the final 2, but she is a safe bet to keep till the final 4.

totally agree and thought the same thing. wasn't it Ami who said survivor never had all women in the end? i think they will boot the rest of the men to make it all women. THEN, i think twila and julie will get the girls to vote Ami off first. Scout is self destructive, she'll never go all the way. i had also wondered why she even went (with her bum knee/hip)??

Count me in as another who is less than excited about this season. :sad2:

Not only are these people boring, they aren't the ripest banana in the bunch either. Why the women kept Scout as long as they have is beyond me. She has caused them so many challenges and now, while she is not a threat in immunity challenges, I doubt anyone would fare well up against her in the final 2.

I think dividing the tribes by man/woman made the game more boring and predictable. We knew that the men would spout off about being stronger and then lose the first challenge - especially when they made the challenges skewed towards the women (lots of "balance" type obstacles). We knew the women would divide up by the young/pretty/divas and the older women that do all the work.. this was all done in the Amazon and was boring there too.

I just hope that in the next Survivor they find some more "colorful" personalities and allow us to get to know them a little better in the beginning - the first show being only a typical hour with a lot of the time spent on the island rituals kind of made it hard from the get go to know who is who. I think the first show needs to be 2 hours.

Im another who doesnt want to see it all women
I was starting to like Rory

I'm going to try to post a recap of last night's epi from memory for the person two pages back who asked. Someone else correct me if I leave something out.

Julie cuddled up with Sarge after John was voted out, and continued to use her sex appeal to try and get in good with the men. She even convinced Sarge to tan his booty on the beach and Sarge admitted Julie was an exhibitionist.

Rory gets sicker and sicker of being in the all-women's camp and complains that everyone except him and Scout are lazy and sleep all the time. It showed Leanne, Ami, and Eliza crawling out of the shelter all grumpy and not even thanking the two of them for having coffee and breakfast and the fire ready for them.

The reward challenge was a toss the bucket/fill the bucket relay. First team to get enough water in their bucket to light the flare wins. Lopevi wins milk, cookies, and a big chocolate cake.
Remember folks, chocolate is a natural diuretic and these folks don't have the strongest stomachs after 19 days of bland food. The cake does not get finished and all talk about feeling really sick later.

At the immunity challenge the merge happens and Sarge, Rory, Eliza, and Ami win the first heats. It is a swim out and capture the three flags challenge that Sarge easliy wins.

They go back and paint a really cool flag and I forget the name of the new tribe: starts with an "A" and means "people of fire." Scout came up with that. Body painting all around!

Let the scheming begin. Rory gets all the men filled in about Ami the power player and they want her gone. Twila wants Rory out first. It is edited to look like Twila and Julie will vote Ami, but the vote shows clearly that the two vote with the other four women. The men are open mouthed.

The question becomes: is this smart strategy for Twila to get Ami to trust her before picking her off? has she just solidified the numbers for the women without realizing it will doom her pact with Sarge? or has she been playing the men the whole time?

New Tribe name is Alinta. Scout came up with it. Says it means Fire or something like that.

Did anyone else see the women plucking each other's eyebrows with their fingers?!? Ewww. What's up with that?

I hope that Twila really does have a plan and didn't vote with the women because of what that lying witch Julie told her. I think that Sarge is a stand-up kind of guy and meant it when he offered Twila the final 4.

Did anyone else notice how strong Eliza suddenly became when she was going for individual immunity. Not much of a team player, that woman. Just doing enough to stay under the radar.

Yes the eyebrow plunking was kinda strange. :D

And I agree I hope that Twilla has a back up plan.

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

yeah, I never see her move her butt that fast before...she really was neck and neck with Sarge there for a while...

another thought.....
too bad Rory didn't make it to the jury. He would have added a lot to the ending speech - aka Sue/Survivor One.
I too hope Twila has a plan, but again it will come down to who wins immunity each week.
I hope we don't have another Jenna winner this season - do nothing, fly below the radar and win because she was the nice one in the end

Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn......

I thought to myself last night, I guess if it does come down to all women, there WILL be some major drama when they start plucking each other off. But, I really kinda like Chad and Chris and Sarge is okay....I would hate to see them booted off just cause they're men. At first I liked Ami, but she seems to have some rooted issues with the opposite sex.

maybe cuz she prefers her own sex/gender?

All I know is it is going to be very uncomfortable at the camp. Sarge is going to be highly upset that Julie and Twila broke their word. And Ami is going to be smug because she thinks she is running the show.

Yes, I hope Twila has a backup plan. I think the men were very straight up with her and she just broke that trust.
