Survivor Thailand! (Possible Spoilers)

I agree with most of you here, this season was the MOST Boring, and I didn't want EITHER one of those 2 to win! I think Jan probably got screwed, in a way, by Brian, or maybe he promised her some of the money if she voted for Helen, thats why she didn't GO to Helen, my god, she went around about everything else that happened! Even if it was wrong info she was seeing. I did not see Jan as a School Teacher/Role Model for kids on this show, she DOES remind me of an OLD Drunk Woman! The make-up didn't help her either!  Hope next years a LOT better!;)

Okay, I know I'm old and losing it but just WHO and in which season was Sarah!?! I can't remember for the life of me.

Lots of good points made here and I agree with most of them. I do, however, believe that they did focus on Brian in the beginning of the live show but then wanted to give everyone a chance to speak about something and there just is not enough time for everything. I believe that to be probably one of the reasons (in addition to political correctness) why Jeff did not pursue Helen further on the racist comment supposedly (and I believe probably) said by Clay.

Too many live shows prior to this left me disappointed. Jeff made sure EVERYbody said something last night (not so in prior live episodes) and I love how he brought out behind the scenes drama - The reunion of Tanya's Dad and Sister at her going away party prior to leaving for Survivor and then the phone call of his subsequent passing was one touching, bittersweet item. Following up on whether Robb's (2 B's guys!) epiphany was actually a life-changing experience or not. Hearing about Jake's determination to win the immunity challenge after his wife ate all that stuff for him and then turning to mush and forgetting all about the game when he sees her for that challenge. Stuff like that. The HUMAN drama.
Stated by Liz: Its so frustrating that everyone just let Brian run the show and make all the decisions.
............. I SO totally agree with the above statement.
Stated by Suzannen I don't know ................but I had nightmares of snakes all night!!!
.......Yikes!
Stated by CathyCanada: ........It was like Jan wasn't playing at all. She was flying beneath the radar. That may have worked for Tina, but it hasn't worked in any Survivor since then.........
....... I do disagree with this above statement. Vescepia flew under the radar, IMHO.
Stated by Poohbear: ........I did not see Jan as a School Teacher/Role Model for kids on this show, she DOES remind me of an OLD Drunk Woman!........
........Jan also said in her closing statement that she learned to never give up, never quit and she never wants any of her students to ever quit. Well, excuse me, but what does she think she did at the final immunity challenge. She just GAVE IT ALL UP. Yes, I'm certain it was tough and it was hard, etc., etc.... but she just out and out quit in my eyes.

______
And finally, I did tune into the Early Show this a.m. Brian was on, and then joined first by Helen and then Clay and finally Jan (without shoes - no further comment by me on that!). Then the runner ups left and Jeff and Mark Burnett joined Brian to give him the check. I have to say that Brian still played the game to the very end.

The interviewer brought up about him acting in *adult films* and he stated that Of course the producers and the other contestants were aware of that background of his and he considers it another artform, same as - oh who did he name? - Mike (I think he said Mike) Douglas and he named another actor do the same thing and they show their Butts so... And the interviewer stated how on that police show (don't remember which one, sorry) they are always showing butts. Excuse me, but I am SURE Brian shows more than his butt in those films but hey, I've been called naive before so maybe I'm wrong.

Also, one more thing, I gotta give the interviewer some credit for at least trying to ask about this. She brought up the troubles he had with his wife with regards to spousal abuse and yet there was his wife in the audience last night, cheering him on, how are things between the two of you now, she asked. And he skirted right around the question (just as he did with some live phone calls) and said yes she was there and didn't she look beautiful?

Yep, he's a song and dance man alright. And damm good at it too.

Sarah was from Survivor Marquesas. She was the big boob girl who flirted with Boston Rob & rode to the island like Cleopatra! Now do you remember her?

:D

I'm curious why you say this. Since Jeff stated prior to mentioning it that in ALL the tape they have, (and they tape EVERYTHING), they could find absolutely NO evidence of a racist comment made by anyone.

Thank you. I was wondering who Sarah was, too (gee, that sure was memorable  ). Now I remember her. :)

I wouldn't put it past Clay. He sure was quick to "put women in their place", and if he's that way toward women, I wouldn't put it past him to be that way toward other races as well.

Didn't Ted say that Helen told him this AFTER they were both voted out? I'm assuming they don't film the ones that are kicked out and in limbo waiting for the game to end. In that case there wouldn't be any evidence. I wish that Jeff had asked H&T to elaborate.

Ummm....Yes, Helen told him that after they were both voted out. But, everything everyone said while together in Thailand was taped.

Personally, I have seen no evidence Clay made a racial comment. People here have feeling he was LIKELY to make the comments? Personally, I find it more credible that Helen made it up.

To me... Helen looked pretty uncomfortable when Ted announced that BUT if Clay were so innocent why wouldn't he turn around and confront her?? I certainly would have called her to the carpet on it right there on live television if I had NEVER said anything.

I thought this was a pretty good show.... I laughed my butt off when Penny based her vote on HER! It was all about who knew HER the best.... ummmmmm excuse me Miss.... this isn't THE PENNY SHOW!

I started to watch the same interview this morning and had to walk away. To say that what he did in the adult films was nothing more than showing his butt...hmmm...maybe he was hiding his p*nis but we don't have to see it to know what it was doing! Maybe I'm just naive too!!

I'm starting to think he is a really good actor, and he just always stays in character.

Neither have I, which is why I was curious. My gut tells me that Helen probably made it up. Clay just looked too shocked when the subject came up. Either Helen made it up or Clay did say something that Helen took out of context.

I wonder if they would ever release any tape of the ones who have been voted out while they do whatever it is they do while they wit for the end. I doubt they will release it, but I think it would be very interesting to watch.

I didn't know what to believe about the Ted accusation. It was kind of surreal. Ted & Clay were kind of buds. They hung out. It just came out of the blue.

Ted had some things he experienced (the votes at TC that were a surprise before Ted's oust caused by Clay) that he could've called Clay on. I didn't know what to make of his dramatic accusation without his backing it up. What did Ted ask Brian about in regards to whether or not Clay was telling the truth?

Then at the end of the reunion show, there was a shot where everyone was mingling with one another and Ted and Clay were close and smiling in one another's faces. Strange for either to do after an accusation like that.

Who knows?

Helen went a little over the top IMO with the anger thing. She had some responsibility with where she ended up too. She could've gone to Jan. She said earlier you couldn't trust anyone at this point in the game, then she totally trusted Brian!! To call Brian a trashy used car salesman was low. She did the same thing to Ted when he was voted off!! I'm not a fan of Brian's but he did play the game, as did the others in some way shape or form.

Oh Yes! Now I remember. Thank you for reminding me.....I think. Well, I wish her luck.

I said that because over these last many weeks Clay has left me with the impression that he could very well be a racist. He definitely came across as sexist and he admitted on public television that he would think nothing of beating a child (paraphrasing here - "If I had a two year old acting like that [Ghandia's tantrum], I would whop his *** and throw him into bed"). Some people found that comment funny, I found it to be pathetic.

I may think Clay to be a bit of a fool but he is no idiot. umm, maybe I don't totally believe that last statement I just made. Anyway, my point is - if this did happen, it would not have been spoken loud and clear. Yes, I do know they tape the Survivors 24/7. I don't pretend to understand the workings of a soundman and how they manage to hear the Survivors so well with no evidence of a microphone on person or in camera range. The equipment they use has to be pretty sophisticated and picks up quite a bit. However, many times during different Survivor episodes when there was whispering going on, I could not understand what was being said. If Clay did say something, it could have been said low and quick or even directly into her ear. I'm sure there is so much boredom time going on that even the camera and sound men (or women) don't pay total attention to what is happening.

Now, Ted brought this subject up at final tribal council. Jeff questioned him about it during tribal council. I believe Jeff said that he personally saw no evidence of anything like that being said. He could not have reviewed all the tape looking for evidence because this all happened within minutes. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it was not discussed at all on the live episode. If it was, then I apologize because I am wrong.

Helen could very well have the same impression of Clay as I have and he could have said something innocuous but Helen could have either taken it out of content or she could have heard what she wanted to hear -- people do that. That's not the same as saying she made it up. That's saying she heard something meant one way and took it another way. I personally don't believe she would make this up.

I also believe that if this is totally false and Clay never made any comment that was or can be construed as being racist, then he should definitely pursue this aggressively to get his name cleared. He should make Survivor go through all those tapes and have Helen point out the time this supposedly happened. And he should make sure that Survivor corrects this on national television because, if he is innocent of this allegation, then don't we have a case of slander here? I would think he would definitely want to seek vindication.

(Hmm... this is the second season in a row I got myself involved in a controversial racial topic regarding the Survivor finale. Maybe I should quit watching the show. Or maybe I should just keep my mouth shut.)

I totally agree. Even if Clay is not racest, I wouldn't put it past him to make obnoxious comments that could be construed that way. IMO Helen formed strong opinions from her impressions or "take" on things. She's not a liar though. Knowing that Clay tended to blurt out comments that weren't well thought out, I can easily see him saying something she may have read that way.
