~ SURVIVOR Samoa ~ Season 19 ~

I think they will start comparing notes and catch on to Russell soon. If they are careful, they should keep him around to win challenges. He's very good at those and could carry the tribe far. Then they can kick his dumb butt out.

Keep him around to win challenges, as he is pouring out water and burning socks???? If they got rid of him, they can keep themselves hydrated and warm, and win the challenges without him. Their not going to win anything with him sabotaging the camp.

The moment Russell called the blond girls dumb....I hated him. When he poured out everyone's water and burned Jaison's sock....I wanted him gone. I hated that they showed so much of him, and didn't focus at all on some of the others. He's a short, fat, ugly little weasel of a human being. I hope they catch on to him quick and vote his butt out.

I like Jaison (the good swimmer), and Shambo...some we haven't seen enough of to make a decision.

I know for a fact that potential Survivors are given a pretty intense psych evaluation. SO what I do not understand, is how the powers that be manage to find a crazy person every season??

Because the power's that be know the viewer's love crazy people. It all started with naked Richard.

Russell was really bothering me last night. Right out of the gate, he is calling people dumb and stupid, and sabotaging his own team???? WTH???? My first instinct with him, is he is the stupid one. He thinks he is so brilliant with his schemes, and he is going to get caught ASAP. I think the tribe is already onto him, the editing just hasn't showed us.

I don't ever remember hating someone this early in the game. Yes, I have had people I didn't like, but I despise Russell, and he better be gone soon.

They look for people like this. There has to be a villain to create moments such as the "dumb girl alliance" and the "sock burning". They cause the buzz that get viewers talking and watching.

Me too. When he was dumping the water and burning the socks I just couldn't help but think I was watching some sneaky child.
I get that he wants to be the next Fairplay but one thing he forgot is that Fairplay didn't win ;)

I kept thinking thinking the other team doesn't know how lucky they are to NOT have Russell on their team. They might be thinking they wish they had his strength but they are much better off without him.

The docotor who was voted leader seemed unsure of himself after Russell became the one to rally the troops. He was one of the few who voted for Ashley. I would be concerned about that. Will he be able to overthrow Russell? I do hope Russell sticks around for a while. He made it really interesting.
No one wants to be leader right off the bat. I think that once they got to camp and began putting it together, he stepped back hoping that someone else would step in. In their case, it's Russell. I enjoy him, he's comic relief but I doubt he will last long. He is moving way too fast.

Russell's downfall may be that, before she left, Marisa quoted what he said about honesty. If he used the same line with several other people (likely), that would be a huge red flag. They couldn't boot him last night, they had no chance to compare notes. But, it's likely to happen next week.

So far, I like Jaison and the doctor. The rocket scientist is annoying. I think "Shambo" is going to be funny to watch. And could somebody please get Hillbilly Guy a different pair of shorts? Those tight yellow joggers have GOT to go!

No favorites at this point, but it looks like it could be an interesting season.

Shambo's mullet has to go though.

I bet anything he (Russell) is lying about his occupation, I just don't think someone that psychotic, weird and vindictive would be responsible enough to own a business, let alone an OIL company ??? :confused3 Unless he owns a gas station and calls that an oil company, maybe, just doesn't seem like any type of business owner to me, more like a petty criminal/thief.

I don't think he'll last, I think they'll find out about his sabatoge one way or another and he'll be gone.

The producers seem to really be pushing Russell as the bad guy. All the promos I heard talked about how he could be the biggest villain ever on Survivor. It just seems to be a little too much. And then he was shown MUCH more that anybody else last night. They certainly want us to hate him, but he's so obvious that I don't even care. I feel like they're trying to cram him down our throats and say look how evil this guy is. Come on - it takes a long time to work up a good hate for somebody. I certainly didn't despise Nastalie on BB right away. But each week my hatred grew & grew; that's what made it fun. Trying to be the most evil player ever on the first show? I'm just not buying it right now.

And Marisa should've called Russell out at tribal. She should've said you made an alliance with me, and then I saw you talking one on one with everybody else, so how many others were you lying to and saying you had an alliance with?

Does anyone else have total dejavu with this show? Seems almost every character looks/ act like a previous character. The doctor reminds me alot of several of the past pretty boys, even coach a little as to the way he looks, Shambo definitely reminds me of several girls from the past, just seems like they get alot of the same types for the show each year.

:furious: RUSSELL.....what an IDIOT! O..M..G..to dump out the water, burn the socks, call the blonds dumb.....:furious:

I don't have any fav's this early BUT you can ALL guess who I cannot stand!! ::yes::

I agree, I do wish she would have called him out last night prior to leaving.
I thought she was going to there for just a minute. It looked like the thought crossed her mind and then she chose not to.

I could see him owning his own oil company. People sometimes act out when they get into a different environment or around people that they don't know and don't expect to see again. Would I be surprised that he was lying about owning his own oil business? Not at all. It could be one of those places where you get the oil changed in your car, not an oil company.

I think I'm tuning out this year, or at least until Russell is gone. I just don't find it entertaining to watch an evil psycho "Johnny Fairplay wannabe" on my TV.

Can't wait for Russell to be off the island!! We know Betsy is on to him, so hopefully the other girls will get it together and figure him out and give him the boot. Wouldn't that just be justice, if his "dumb girls" blindsided him! :lmao:

Just wonder if its getting to the point where its a little scripted, I agree the attention to Russell was over whelming.

One of my favorite blogs (which I can get on my Kindle) is Reality Blurred. Here is a link to the web site’s page of the interview with Russell.

http://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/2/

In the interview Russell says that he runs a ‘tankering service”. He does not own an oil business; rather, I imagine he has a trucking business in which he delivers gasoline to service stations.

Since Russell is a liar, he probably has lied about his money, business, everything.

By the by: on said Reality Blurred it is reported that Ethan Zohn's cancer has worsened. I hope the best for him!
