Survivor: Pearl Islands *OFFICIAL THREAD*

Hey, has anyone noticed that CBS isn't showing the Survivor's popularity on its website? They still let you rate the Survivors, but they no longer show you the tracking of each Survivor's popularity week-to-week. Is it somewhere and I just missed it?

Does anyone besides me even miss that?

Edited: Nevermind, I finally found it!

Here's the transcript from the Early Show this morning:

Showing scenes with Andrew from the show, Julie Chen is interviewing.

Andrew: Ouch!

ES: We're sitting here watching these clips, watching you call these people misfits, and you're cringing. What did you do wrong in this game to be sitting here right now?

A: Great question.

ES: Where do we begin, you're thinking.

A: Yeah, there are so many things. Where did I go wrong? I trusted Lil. There's so much more you don't see. I was the only one in my tribe arguing to keep Lil the first go-around, day nine. I didn't want to vote her out. My tribemates came to me and said, "She's got to go." And I'm not stupid so I sided with my tribemates and voted her out.

ES: Why did you want to keep her?

A: Great work ethic, she did a lot around the camp. She was inspirational. She was the oldest person out there and I had great respect for her.

ES: As we're watching at home, you definitely appeared to be the leader of your tribe, so it's kind of hard for us to believe that you couldn't swing the others to vote otherwise. Or was it just a numbers game, that you had to go with the majority, you didn't have a choice?

A: That's exactly right. I was the leader, but it was also clearly a democracy. Critical decisions--it was always put up to a vote and I had one vote. I did my best to sway everyone to keep Lil, they said no, we needed stronger people in the challenges. Clearly the most demanding physically Survivor to date, and we thought, well, maybe we should have stronger people in the challenges because goodness knows what was coming up.

ES: Was Lil the swing vote last night that did you in?

A: Yeah, Lil was the swing vote last night. We had five Morgans going after Little Jon and five Drakes coming after me. There's so much more you didn't see. Couple minutes before we get on the boat, Lil jumped ship. What you didn't see is that myself and two Morgans had an alliance with Rupert and two Drakes. It seemed like a solid alliance, and then a couple minutes before we get on the boat to go to tribal council, it fell apart because Lil decided to jump ship and go with the Drakes.

ES: Did that merge catch you off-guard?

A: Totally.

ES: Did that contribute to your demise as well? Because, how well do you really know members of the Drake tribe to try to start swinging their votes, and it's kind of like...

A: Definite disadvantage. I wish I would have had a couple of days with the Drakes to work some magic, try to get some more alliances, relationships. You don't know the Drakes that well, haven't had a lot of contact with them. One thing I just wanted to clear up that's been driving me nuts. Before tribal council day 9, I came up to Lil, gave her a big hug, big kiss on the cheek, I said, "Lil, we love you. I'm so sorry about tonight. It's not personal. It's strategy." She said, "Andrew, it's okay, I understand." And she's admitted this in her interviews, so she says I didn't tell her that she's going, that's not true. And she actually set aside a bunch of firewood before she went to tribal council and pointed it out to me and said, "Andrew, I know I'm not coming back, here's the firewood to start up the fire when you get back." She was a nice lady, that's the kind of things that she would do so she did know that she was going.

Now they're taking callers.

Caller: Rupert is clearly the leader of his tribe by supplying them with ten to fifteen pounds of fish a day, helping his tribe win team immunity, being the strongest on his team and his tribe. I was wondering, you being portrayed as the leader of your tribe, what have you done to help them?

A: Yeah--another thing you don't see is that every day we're spending hours gathering Panamanian mussels and oysters. There wasn't many fish in our lagoon. Rupert was with us for two days, he got four fish. Two days on his island he's getting 30 fish. There's just not a lot of fish in our lagoon, so we scoured the coral heads and got all the oysters and mussels we could get and we'd supplement that with our rice so that's what we were doing.

Caller: Which one of the Outkast tribe members were you hoping to come back to join your tribe and why?

A: At that point I would've loved to have Burton. I really didn't think a merge was coming, I would've loved to have Burton for his strength and clearly he's a good strategist in the challenges. So I was hoping for anybody other than a Morgan because I had crosshairs on my forehead from day one being the perceived leader. And it would be tough to get over the fact that the three Outkasts from Morgan were not happy with me, thinking that I masterminded them being voted out.

Then he gets a call from his cousin to say congratulations and that's the end.

I'm bummed about Andrew, he was my favorite. Now I'm rooting for Rino and Rupert. I like Sandra, too.

Interesting that he had an alliance with two other Morgans--which two?

Have we figured out what the "big lie" was? I was wondering if it was when Burton promised that whoever came with him from the Outkasts--he would never lie to them. It's a stretch, but I can't think of anything else. Anyone know?

Lil just looked so bitter--yikes, that frown at tribal council!

I know! And no need to be. She had immunity, but more importantly, she got a second chance -- unlikely Andrew will get a "second" chance. I was bummed to see him leave also.

I can't believe Jon is still there. He makes my skin crawl!

I can't tolerate his personality at all! Can you imagine being stranded there with him???? God have mercy....

airhead

kbeverina, I was wondering too what the big lie was.
I thought maybe it was when Jon told Andrew that Drake had thrown that challenge to get rid of Burton. Andrew was really upset that Jon said that and didn't believe him. I believe Andrew said something about how dare he say we didn't earn that win, we worked our butts off and won that immunity. Who is he to say that. Now I know what Jon said wasn't a lie, but I guess their throwing the competition could be considered a lie to the other team.

Everyone's comments about Jon are making me LOL!!! And they certainly mirror the way I feel about him. Yuck!

I used to like Lil but don't anymore. I hope she goes ASAP. I'm sorry Andrew is gone. My favorite remaining member of that tribe is Rhino. Love him and hope he goes far. I think Rupert liked him from when he visited their tribe so maybe he will include him in some sort of alliance.

Will they please vote out Jon! He drives me nuts. He probably won't be voted out til the Morgans are gone or at least Drake have a big advantage. Lil is really getting on my nerves now too. I hope they don't vote Rupert out as the previews were showing but normally whatever they try to imply doesn't really happen.

I want Rupert to win, Rino get second, and Sandra third.

Last night was a great episode even though I was disappointed in the outcome.

Someone already said this but it is so true - Lil looks so bitter. She talked about how she doesn't fit in with her tribemates. I don't think she really even tried. Not before and not now. Just her reaction when she was chosen to return to a tribe told me that she is no real Survivor. I wish ANY of the others got picked instead of her. Oh well!

Andrew looked great on The Early Show today. I thought it was very interesting how he insisted on clearing the air about informing Lil that it was her time. I wonder who is telling the truth here?

I also wonder how they would have handled a tie if Lil voted along old tribal lines. Would they done that old Purple Rock Pull from a bag that did Paschal in?

Can't wait until next week. PLEASE let that be the week that Jon goes! However, I am afraid next on the hit parade will be Ryan O. :(

Savage was my favorite....I am soooo sad he is gone:(

I don't know who I want to win now. I do not like Sandra. Maybe Tiajuana or Ryan. Rupert is just too "in my face", if you will. But, I was touched by his comments to Burton about over hearing his conversations early in the game about his "skirt" and being a "fat kid". My heart always goes out to the poor kid who is repeatedly made fun of for something like acne, out of style clothes or being FAT! Teens can be so cruel that way! This is a good series, though. Many interesting twists to keep us on our toes.

So maybe Andrew DID tell Lil that Morgan was about to vote her out! Interesting if true and that sure casts some doubt on Lil.

I've read rumors that an older female and a younger female and a bearded guy are among the final four. Of course a lot of guys are bearded so that's no help. Darrah could be the younger female and Lil might be the other one?

Of course half the rumors I've heard haven't come true! :D

I think the deciding factor against Andrew was the conversation he had with Lil when she came back. While Rupert and Burton mended fences, Andrew was being nasty to Lil. I can't remember the exact conversation, but I remember him telling her how they thought things were going to go and then BAM a outcast came back. He sounded downright pissed to her and I'm sure that made her decision easier.

I finally got to watch the episode last night. I don't like having to watch it so late, but luckily I had stayed away from any hints on who had gotten voted out. Thanks for the post of the transcript of the Early Show because I wouldn't even turn the channel on Friday.

I am with most, I want Jon gone, I really don't like him. The game has taken an interesting twist. I wish that Andrew hadn't gotten voted out, but that is the way it goes.

Can't wait for this week and hopefully I'll get to watch it in true time this week.

Too funny Tulirose... was kind of thinking the same thing! Still remember that being such a turning point that year, and did not want Paschal voted out. Thought he was a pretty unique "Survivor".

SSB is wondering haw far along it will be before they start feeling the need to get "Rupert" out, due to his strength and popularity... hope that he makes it, but .... will he make the final three, do you think?

Liked the "rumor"... had not heard that one. When bearded, SSB first thought of Rupert.

THURSDAY ON SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS

A couple of Survivors are shocked by an electric stingray.

A sudden bounty of food for some causes energy levels to rise, egos to clash, suspicions to fester and one group of castaways to plan a coup. Will it work?
