Survivor: Pearl Islands *OFFICIAL THREAD*

Wow, that was craaaaaaaazy!!!! But I loved it!!! What a twist!! What a show!!

I just knew Jon was going to stay; despite his attempt to oust Rupert, I do think the other tribe members have respect for him because he does work around the camp, and from what we've seen, Shawn doesn't work much at all. Plus I remember in a past episode some of the tribe members commenting that Shawn ate the most and worked the least. PLUS, *if* they go to merge next week, Shawn would be the one most likely to make an alliance with the voted-back members, AND is probably more of a threat for personal immunity than Jon. Despite the fact that I would've LOVED to have seen Jon voted out, it probably was the most sound decision on the part of the Drake tribe.

And Osten...jeez...."I always give 110%...".....yeah, when you *know* you're going to win!! Otherwise, you quit! What a LOSER. Good job, Jeff, for calling him on it. And good job, MB, for denying him his final words. What a putz.

What an episode last night! I totally agree with Andrew when he said that those people were voted out for a reason and they should NOT be allowed to stick around very long - get rid of them at the earliest opportunity.

I was soooo disappointed that Drake kept Jon. I guess they can't see the cocky way he's playing them all, like we can. I'm hoping that after the tribes merge, the Morgan folks remember Jon telling them how Drake threw that challenge and they get together to get rid of him.

Good riddance Osten!! I think Jeff handled it well; I was kind of surprised there was no official vote, but Osten basically quit the game so no vote was necessary. Nice move not giving him his final speech. He should never have tried out for Survivor in the first place.

Can't wait for next week! I'm trying to figure out who I want from the Outcasts to come back - I kind of liked Burton, think he'll really shake things up if he comes back. As for the other person, I don't know; maybe skinny Ryan?? I don't like Lillian, Trish or Nicole. No feelings one way or the other about Michelle. This is definitely an interesting season, but I don't think it's fair to bring back the ones who've been voted out. Can't wait to see how far the Outcasts go in the game.

I don't think Burton acted bad on the show necessarily, but I remember his final words being so arrogant and he came across that way on the Early Show interview the following morning too. So I hope he doesn't come back.

I think they kept Jon and voted Shawn off because Rupert figures he can push Jon around more. Shawn was stronger and far more threatening. I think Jon is weaker and not liked, so the three figure they can push him around. JMHO.

I agree about the Outcasts...totally not fair. Oh well! Nice to see a change in things though. I hope that whoever is sent back on goes to a different tribe than where they started. I do not want to see Lil or skinny Ryan back on.

And why didnt they vote Jon off after all he has fought with almost all the members of the Drake tribe. I really was hoping Jon would push Rupert and just be disqualified and asked to leave(not that I condone violence by any means).

I like Rupert, but was a bit surprised with his attitude after the tribal council. This is a game --- did he think he was immune? If you remember it was Rupert who placed his hand on the back of Jon's neck. I thought for sure he was ready to wring his neck.

Okay, so where was the big lie?

Ohiominnie beat me to it, but while it's nice that the outcasts weren't feasting on steak and lobster, they did not have the other ecumberances that the other two trivbes had - bugs, competition, day-to-day work around the camp (okay, I'm not sure I can say that about that last one), but clearly they were better rested. Having said that, they didn't beat Drake by much.

Osten - what more can be said? There are so many more people that didn't make Survivor that were probably more worthy of getting their 15 seconds of fame.

My prediction for next week. Lillian and Burton come back and since there will be 10 survivors left, they will merge afterwards with someone getting voted off at the end of the show.

I saw some of the early show this morning.

Shawn said that he should have voted Rupert off when he had the chance. But he has a lot of respect for him. He has no hard feelings as far as I could tell.

Osten on the other hand doesn't look any different now than in the show. He was very good natured about the whole thing. His attitude is that I tried it and it wasn't his thing. He was asked why he tried out for the Pearl Islands when he couldn't swim. Osten said he could swim but not well. Went back to the body thing, that it had just given out on him. Was asked was he afraid of bugs. He said no, just the diseases they might carry.

I wonder if Osten was chosen because of his physique. I couldn't believe the way he just slouched in his chair on the show. He took a spot away from someone that really wanted to be there. He will always be remembered as the Survivor Quitter.

Kirby, you are so right....I'm willing to bet 20 years from now we'll see Osten on a 'Where are they Now?" type show, with his claim to fame being the only person ever to voluntarily leave Survivor.

IMO Rupert has gone over the edge. Jon has acted like a jerk, Shawn wanted to fight Jon, etc., but what Rupert did to Jon after tribal council was worse. I can't believe no one called him on it. Evidently he thinks he is immune to votes and has the right to physically threaten anyone who votes for him? THAT to me is the height of arrogance and more arrogant than anyone I've seen so far on Survivor.

Well I think The Dread Pirate Rupert deserves to take it all. I want him to win so bad I cant stand it.

I think he was just blowing off steam to Jon and I think he has that right. Jon did try to back stab him. I can't stand Jon, I want to chop off those two fingers he's always sticking up, although I agree that he does do a whole lot more work around the camp.

I feel bad for the Morgan group sometimes, but I dont see why they dont try to fish harder. It's like they wont even attempt it. They just want to starve till the merge and then Rupert will take care of them (thats seems to be their plan anyway)

Osten is the biggest whimp Ive ever seen. He was ready to quit after, what (?) the 4th day or so? Sheesh. What a whiner.

I sure dont like the new twist with the Outcasts thing. Although they said they had been living on "limited rations and protein supplements", protein supplements are going give them an edge over scrounging for whatever they could get. And I also wonder if they are able to bathe and get refreshed and sleep in relative comfort? Maybe not the Holiday Inn but probably not out in the rain on a beach with bugs and crabs. I just think it's unfair. They were voted off and don't deserve a 2nd chance. Thats the way the game is played.

This season is sure more entertaining than the last two were...but again, to me, Rupert deserves to take it all. I like him alot. Just like Ethan in Africa. He deserved to win IMO, he was truly a nice guy and proved you don't have to be a schemer to win. Rupert has not been a schemer in my opinion. The only 'shocking' thing he did was in the first episode where he took their shoes to trade and that cracked me up.
He's true to himself, and works his bootie off. He carries that tribe.

I couldn't believe they allowed Osten to appear on the CBS Morning Show this morning. He did NOT deserve to be there. He QUIT (what a wimp!!). Shawn should have been on the show alone this morning. I didn't like Osten from the beginning, with all his whining and wanting to quit, being afraid of bugs and that poor pelican, wanting to "chop it's head off." What a JERK!!! I'm glad he's gone and I was glad they didn't give him his last "minute of fame" to talk after he QUIT. What a LOSER!!!

I definitely want Rupert to go all the way, and be the winner. Or Andrew. Either one would be fine.

I really didn't care for the Outcasts coming back. They were voted off, they shouldn't be back. But, it's an interesting "twist" to the game, that's for sure. I just hope one of them doesn't win the money, that really wouldn't be fair. I wouldn't be happy.

OMG!!! This was the best show ever! As for the Outcast tribe more power to them. Yes, they were voted out but sometimes unfairly...Nicole started conniving a little early, so what? Lillian definitely because of her age not her work ethic, Fair? I think not! I think they all deserve a second chance except Osten.

I was not surprised at all Jon stayed. I knew by his smirk and his Johnny Fairplay hand gestures he was the one staying. I think Shawn was happy about it, he knew he would be going to the Outcast tribe and maybe still has a chance. And I remember all too well what happened in Big Brother the X Factor. Although the plan is to vote out the Outcast Member the first chance they get YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN.

I think Rupert's tirade was really just an act for T.V. You know the pirate who wants to know who lead the mutiny and then since he couldn't make Jon walk the plank, he would just scare the heck out of him. Rupert knew who voted for him, it was just a scare tactic and for show ratings.

Fair? A lot of people mentioned the unfairness of the outcast's return. Hey, this is Survivor! Like someone mentioned before regarding Paschal... it's not about "fairness". I loved the twist!

I think Rupert was a bit over the line with Jon after council, too. Out of control.

Osten was an embarrassment. I'm glad he's gone and I like the way it was handled. What a BABY. Good riddance.

Can't wait until next week!!

I don't think you can assume Shawn is going to the Outcast tribe. I think he's going home for real.

Some of Andrew's comments about the "losers" was pretty harsh.

Buh-bye, Osten - glad to see ya go. I'm kind of surprised they didn't do the vote, even though all were agreed to let him go home, if only for the simple fact that Osten would have been able to vote for someone. That may come back and be a deciding factor later on in the game, if there should be a tie, and they count how many votes the two have received at prior TCs. We'll see.

I am SO annoyed that Jon is still there - he seems to be the instigator in so many problems. He has a big mouth, and is way too cocky for his Blue Lagoon-blonde-dude-whose-name-escapes-me-wanna-be-lookalike self. :p

Since the two outcast members will be immune, let us HOPE that Jon is the one walking the plank next week. PLEASE!!!

I thought the Outcast Tribe was here to stay...but you are right...never assume anything.

Nah...I thought he showed total control. He was really mad so he yelled at him, out of control would've been getting violent. Jon probably expected the screaming and yelling anyway, especially since Jons been the one screaming and yelling almost daily-lol.

Overall I thought it was a good episode, fair....nah but certainly entertaining.

I think they were only around for the two-parter. Next week the outcasts will vote for two members to return to the game. The remaining outcasts are then out of the game for good.

I wonder how this is going to work? Wont they all pick themselves? LOL
