Survivor All Star OFFICIAL THREAD!

FINALLY someone who agree with me! I really don't think Rupert was one of the better players. I'm still deciding, Rudy, maybe, Rob C., Jenna L. It's obvious that the popularity contest has Rupert winning.

I voted for Jenna L.

But when it came right down to it, I am sticking to who I really feel was cheated out of the million the first time around, and who I thought at tribal council voting confessional time last night, showed her true side again, not the bitter side, and that is Kathy!

I agree! I also voted for Kathy for that reason. I also considered Rupert and Rob C but I keep remembering Vercepia winning and that was so not right to me.

not sure who i'm going to vote for yet, i'm gonna look through the videos first. but i'm not voting for rupert- he's already getting too many. and also in my opinion he didn't deserve to get the first million so he doesn't deserve to get this million. isn't that what this is supposed to be for? to vote for who we think deserves to win because they played the game well and not just who is the fan's favorite? sorry if i've offended any rupert fans but this is my opinion.

after watching the early show, i'm thinking my vote might go to rudy.

How did Rudy "play the game well"? I like him & all, but during this Survivor, he was a liability to his team & they voted him off. He even admitted that it was the right thing for his team to do as he was the weak link (after he injured his foot/ankle). I haven't decided who I'm going to vote for, but I don't think anyone who got voted off the first few weeks "played the game well", JMHO.

I voted for Colby . . . . and not just cuz he's cute!!! I've always been impressed with him standing by his alliance with Tina. He would have won the million if he took Keith to the final 2.

Rupert will probably win, and that will be okay with me too.

$.02 more :)

1) Rob and Amber have been going out since the show ended, leading up to the finale (a couple months, at least), so how can you say they haven't had any kind of relationship outside of the show ? I know all of you will say that "he was just doing it in case she won", but I'd like to point out that he did propose before the money was awarded, and that she was wearing an I (heart) Rob t-shirt that I'm fairly certain he didn't MAKE her wear. I don't think it has anything to do with "Stockholm Syndrome"...My best friend in the world and I couldn't stand each other when we first met, and now he's like a brother to me, and I think he feels the same way (we met over 10 years ago). Feelings change as you actually get to know people sometimes.

2) Rupert will win because people like big, goofy puppy dogs, and that describes Rupert to a 'T'. He reminds me a little of a real pirate, a lot of Hagrid from Harry Potter, but more than anything, he reminds me of a big, slobbery St. Bernard that's too dumb not to play in traffic.

3) You guys keep getting onto Rob for "breaking all his alliances", but that's, well, a load of bull. His original alliance was with Amber, and after that they formed one with Jenna and Rupert. Everything else was after that. He didn't break all his alliances, he stuck by them. All the other "alliances" he had with the crybaby crew were just part of him playing the game, and I hate to tell you, but deception is part of this game...always has been and always will be...oh, and I'd say he played it pretty well, considering he got the two of them to the finals:hyper:

4) Rudy deserves this million about as much as I do, since he was in the game for about as long:wave2:

5) Same goes for Colby and Rob "The Master" C (Question: How could he still be the "best player never to have won" ? Did he or did he not get axed pretty quickly in this game ? How does finishing a distant 12th (or whatever) qualify you for "Best player" status? :hyper: )

More later, I'm sure :)

I wonder the exact same thing. He's a self proclaimed 'Best Player'. I have no idea what makes him think that, I can barely remember the guy. I think he's delusional.

Remember - Rob got $250K as second place. So that's 1.25million between them, plus two cars.
Three cars...the truck Rob won when they went to the drive-in, plus the car they gave to his guest "Ambuh", plus the one Ambuh won along with the million.

I think the one she should have won with the million was the one that she awarded to Shi-Ann.

The "Best player never to have won" came from his first Survivor stint. Jeff P. called him that at the reunion show after they announced the winner that year. So, it was Jeff who gave him the title, not Rob, himself.

Lori P. :)

I think there are a lot of relationships that start out badly, with preconceived notions, that turn out to be long-term. I agree with wvrevy. My best friend and I met in 9th grade. I knew I wouldn't like her because she was a snob. Turns out she's one of the least snobby people I know. She is giving and sincere. We've been best friends for almost 25 years.

I hope things work out for them.

Go Rupert!!! Win that million that you've deserved since you stole the shoes in PI!

Chevy won't give the same contestant two cars, so Amber did indeed have to bestow the third car on another player, in this case, Shii-Ann.

I guess we may be triplets ! I don't have to post any of my opinions here because WVRevy does it for me!

Thanks again!

In past seasons, it was

1 - $1M
2 - $100K
3 - $75K
4 - $50K
and down from there to about $2,500 for the first person voted out.

This time, every player was guaranteed a minimum of $25K, but I don't believe the higher places were given any more money than in previous seasons.

I voted for Rob C. not based on this game; I based it on that he came in 3rd place in the Amazon (not too shabby) and because Jeff Probst himself called him "the best player to ever play Survivor and not win."

I considered voting for Kathy, because as someone else stated, she came in 3rd in Marquesas, and I think she slipped cause lame Nelah told her that her bra was showing. I guess if we can go and vote as many times as we want, we can throw a vote her way.

And why not vote for Rudy- I don't know too many 75 year olds who have the tenacity to even play Survivor, let alone go TWICE!

And yes, I think that Amber and Rob will last. They have been dating this whole time, and probably *really* getting to know each other pretty well since they can't go out and act like a normal couple; meaning lots of dinners just at home, or talking on the telephone, etc. I know plenty of people (my DH included) that I wasn't too impressed with when I first met, but then got to know and discovered that we really had a lot in common! And I also know LOTS of people who haven't known each other a long time, yet get engaged and married and it works out. My best friend and her husband knew each other about 6 months before they got engaged and got married 6 months later. They will celebrate 11 years this summer. It's not like Amber and Rob are both 17...they're what...25 and 28? I think that's old enough to have been around the block a time or two and know what you are looking for in a mate.

I have been under the impression that Survivors are not allowed contact with one another from the time the show ends until the finale so many weeks (even months) later. I was wondering how Rob and Amber knew each others parents and such because I thought this was in their contracts, to not be in touch. Evidentally, I have been mistaken.

People at work have said the thing about Rob proposing just in case he lost but I don't believe it and vocally told them so at work. They were mostly saying it as a joke. I don't remember anyone here saying it though but I just turned 50 today and my memory is not like it once was. ;D

Again, I really do hope it works out for them and they have a happy life together. I had been rooting for them both, but mostly Rob, for about the last third of the show. (I really wanted Kathy to win).

Some of the Survivor websites out there speculated a while back that Rob and Amber were covertly seeing each other. There were unconfirmed reports of people seeing Amber catching flights to Boston and Rob catching the occasional flight to Pittsburgh for the weekend. CBS may have let them get away with this to help fuel the rumor mill.

I too wish them the best, but it will be interesting to see what happens when they have to have a "conventional" relationship, which has only just started.

Edited to add... it might have been easy for them to get away with seeing each other, considering how much different the survivors all look after they have been scubbed, fed, and put on clean clothes (and gain a bit of weight back). I probably could have passed the ""scrubbed" version of Romber on the street and never have known it was them.

you have to remember they have been back from the Island since December, they have been dating ever since so its not like they just got home sunday and now they are engaged. as for the comment on the Scrubbed version of Romber I only wished I could look as good as she did, she looked great through the whole thing. He really looks better shaven.
