Survivor 23--South Pacific--No Spoilers**Wed 9/14**

Why did Coach feel that his playing the idol would be a death knell for him? Isn't playing the idol a part of the game? I never understood holding onto the idol on the last chance to use it, even if one thought they were safe.

Holding the idol until the next tribal (which is the LAST chance anyone can use a HII, when they are down to 5 players) guarantees him a spot in the finals. WHy would he consider it his death knell to play it early? 1. If Ozzy comes back Coach will have serious competition for the immunity necklace at the next challenge and therefore NEEDS the insurance of that hidden idol for himself. AND 2. If he gave his HII to Edna, that would royally tick off Rick, Sophie, Albert and Brandon who might see it as going "against them" and would likely try to take Coach out at the next vote in retaliation.

Coach played this one right, though he did appear to be genuinely sorry he couldn't do more for Edna. Of course, THAT could be his schtick...butter everyone up and garner jury votes.

Hohum... another predictable week on Survivor. Ozzy beat Cochran and Edna gets voted off. I have a feeling Ozzy beats Edna next week. If she really wins the RI duel I don't think we would have been shown the teaser preview. I hope I am wrong!

I agree. This season has been soooo boring. I so wish the other tribe hadn't gotten voted out. Since then it has been predictable and BORING! The jury is made up of the more interesting personalities. Heck, until last night, I didn't even know Rick's name.

I can't imagine giving anyone but Coach or Ozzy the money at this point.

Dalton Ross' recap is up on EW.com

One of the reader's comments:
How Brutal was it that Papa Hantz told Brandon that he was “here to do a job”, and played the ‘guilt in the name of God’ card, saying that God wants him to win so that it puts their family in a good position. I think it’s safe to say that Sean Hantz won’t be winning any ‘Father of the Year’ awards anytime soon. No wonder this kid is screwed up.

I thought this too - after meeting Brandon's dad last night, I now have a MUCH better understanding of why Brandon is so screwed up. Between Russell, the brother/dad, and Brandon, I bet the family is just the talk of the town.:scared1:

Also posted, a Q&A with Probst. DO NOT read the readers' comments section if you don't want spoilers, someone posted a (probably inaccurate) boot list.

I was hoping that Cochran would win the RIj. I was routing for him for a long time.

Looking forward to the next week's episode.

I think that the other tribe would have been just as boring. At least we only see a little of Ozzy instead of a lot.

That's not what I meant. He seemed to imply that he wouldn't play it at all, last night OR next week.

I think he means that because playing it will make people resent him, so unless he feels in danger, there would be no reason to play it. And if he gave it to someone, either this week or next, it looks like there is some favourtism. I think personally not playing it, unless he looks like he is in danger, is the right thing to do.

Didn't he marry that girl from first season (cant think of her name) a long time ago?

From 1996 to 2001, Probst was married to his first wife, psychotherapist Shelly Wright.[6] In 2005, he began dating former Survivor contestant Julie Berry, but, in a March 2008 interview, he announced they had split up. Probst married his second wife, Lisa Ann Russell (the ex-wife of actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar), on December 5, 2011.

So, I went over to Ponderosa to see how Cochran was faring. No one was there to greet him, they had all gone down to the beach to avoid him. It is obvious that they are just tolerating him, they still blame him for their being there. At meals, the four sit at one end of the table while Cochran sits by himself. Cochran wonders how they will treat the first of the Upolu tribe that arrives there.

Oh! I thought he was still married to Julie. Thank you.

It actually explains why he was tweeting last week

He said he had a prior engagement lol. Guess so

So like a pp I went to ponderosa and watched the videos of Cochrans home coming. I have to say that.....those people (Whitney, Keith, Jim, and Dawn) were beyond rude and were acting like kids.

They treated him awful and he made a bold move in a game that had him lasting longer than them! They need to get over it. Its a game.....not real life. They would have double crossed him in a heart beat and been proud of themselves. They just cant get over the fact that he did it to them before they could do it to them. I have absolutely no respect for them what so ever.
