Anyone who still thinks Russell is one of the great Survivor players of all time isn't paying attention. As others have said, he alienates so many people that it is going to be very difficult for him to get votes from the jury. He would be gone already if Tyson hadn't been so stupid, and he would have been out anyway if Tyson had been tabbed by Rob to vote for someone other than Russell. He has been fooled by Sandra, who convinced him that Coach was out to get him, and now by Parvati. He was also lucky that JT misread the situation at the Villains camp and gave him the idol, and then he blew that.
Most importantly, though, he had a HUGE advantage on this show because he is the only one that the other players had never seen in action before. If they had seen the previous season before this one was taped, nobody would have trusted him for a second and he would be long gone.
Now that the Villains have the numbers on their side, I expect Russell and Parvati to both make the final 3, along with another Villain, possibly Sandra who seems extremely adept at avoiding votes while doing virtually nothing otherwise. But, unless something unusual happens, I don't see him getting the votes from the jury. Parvati's move last night was brilliant both to ensure that the Villains got the majority and to make herself look like the queen. And Russell set the stage for her to do it because of his own arrogance. Because his lies to the Heroes have been exposed, I don't think he'll be getting votes from them. In the end, Sandra could be the big beneficiary of the Parvati-Russell power struggle.
