Surprising your kid for Christmas

The other way to do it would leave everything to mystery and let them do the opening while on the trip!

i.e.

Start with the suitcase and universal gifts. In the suitcase is the ticket print out BUT just the departure date. Fly to Orlando and go to Universal and enjoy the 2 days. The second night (or before you leave, if moving to WDW) bust out the magic bands/Disney gifts..... OMG! We're going to Disney Now????!!!!
Or while at Universal sometime later the second day, throw on some Mickey Ears and see if they catch on.

P.s. our video of the girls reading the sign posted above was lackluster. I think they were in such awe they had no expression. We drove from NC and I don't think it really hit them that we were going until we got to Savannah.

My husband and I are surprising our boys (3 and 5 years) with a Disney Cruise on 12/9th. Although it's not a Christmas gift, we are sailing on one of the Merrytime cruises! We are super excited. I'll have to pack all of the luggage the night before we leave and sneak it into the car while they are sleeping. They would both normally have school on Friday, so I think we going to tell them that instead of school, were going to take a day off and go on a car ride to the beach. We live in Orlando and it takes about 45 minutes to get to the port. We have it set up for Mickey Mouse to call them and tell them that they are going on a Cruise! It's the call that you can schedule from the DCL website.

That reminds me, the night before we left I went to get the rental car (I rent cause our cars are aging, nicely, and I don't like putting more miles on them then we have to).
I forgot to move the rental car down the street (so they wouldn't see it in the morning). Come Friday morning they go to school and don't even question this extra car in the driveway. :)

Pretty observant! I guess its just kids being kids but...
