I recently booked a room at CR for November 21st. We will be doing the 7 night Double Dip cruise on the Magic, but we'll be going to the MVSCP the night before our cruise. Anyway, I have the Disney Visa and had transferred some of my dollars to my rewards card so I could buy our tickets to MK for the MVSCP. I still had $70 left on my rewards card after buying our tickets to get in to MK. When I called to book my room at CR, I was surprised to find out that I couldn't apply my disney reward dollars toward the reservation of my room. The man that booked the ressie for me said I'd have to have enough money on my rewards card to pay the entire balance of the room. Is that right? I know I can call Disney Cruise Line and apply any amount using my rewards card, so this just seemed strange to me. Anyone know if this is normal? TIA!:)

I decided to call back. The CM that answered the phone told me exactly the same thing the man told me last week. I questioned her, so she put me on hold. When she came back, she said I could have applied the money on my Disney Rewards card but that now the charges had already been applied to my credit card. She kept telling me I could use the rewards card when I got there, which I already knew, but it still bothers me that I wasn't able to use it now. Oh well, I guess it will all be the same in the end.:)

I have partially paid for our visit via CC and I know that an option is to pay the balance with my Disney Dream Reward Dollars.

Here is what is on the my Apply Payment page....

You may use multiple payment methods, but may only use each payment method once.
  • Redeem your Disney Dream Reward Dollars using your Disney Rewards® Card
  • Gift Card
  • Credit Card

Last year I paid off our trip on a Disney Gift Card, a Disney Rewards card and the balance on the Disney Visa. No Problem.

I would call back and tell the CM that you want to post a payment using your Disney Rewards card. This will then create a credit balance on your reservation. Instruct the CM to send an eform to their accounting department and request the credit balance to be refunded back to your credit card. Easy as that! Enjoy your trip!:yay:
