Surprised that there was room 9/23

DH just decided that we should start our drive earlier on 9/23 and drive all day instead of overnight. While there wasn't a studio available at OKW, our first choice, there was a 1br available at OKW or a studio at SSR (there may have been other 1br's but we wanted a cheap studio). We took the SSR studio. We don't love SSR because it feels too spread out for us. But for a super late night arrival with our own car for a few hours of sleep, the spread out feel won't affect us. Gotta love getting to start vacation 8 hours earlier than planned.

We did almost the same thing in January when we went to the Marathon. We had reservations at OKW, but decided to leave the day before early and arrive around midnight. So we also needed a night somewhere. We couldn't get OKW, but got on a waitlist. And a one bedroom at SSR. It worked great, we slept, moved over to OKW, hit the Expo and we were in a one bedroom at OKW in no time. And then the weather was very bad to drive home, so we tried to get another night at OKW and there wasn't a problem.
