Surprise! We're NOT going to Disney! 9/18-9/25 <<Update 3/24 Page 21>>

I know exactly what you mean about Christopher sleeping in your bed. When the kids are at that certain height, the feet are just at the wrong level... :headache:

Sorry you forgot your alcohol, but I guess that's just one thing you can use those on board credits for! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

I'll start with next update since I already did one yesterday.
Sweet. At your age you'll probably forget. :rotfl2:

:duck:

Yea, it was like he was running in his sleep. :headache:

Sorry you forgot your alcohol, but I guess that's just one thing you can use those on board credits for! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:
$175 in onboard credits... suggested $180 in tips charged to our account for the 3 days. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

All Juliana wanted to do was goto Disney.. :rotfl:

Christopher was just talking gibberish. He was really excited. :goodvibes

They're both like any good Disser would be, you are training them well :thumbsup2

We had just boarded the Dream and we need to figure out what to do. We thought about going directly to the pool but it was already 11:30 and getting everyone ready to swim then eat after seemed like too much work. We headed straight up to Cabanas for lunch. They had a very nice spread and I was able to snap one picture of the buffet before both of my hands were filled with plates.

The shrimp were great but the crab claws left much to be desired- the meat wasn't that good and they were a pain to crack and open. We had a great window view and were just enjoying being on the ship.

With full bellies, we made our way outside and tried to find some chairs near the kids pool. They were all taken so we just plopped our stuff down on an open chair. I went into the bags to get out everyone's bathing suits and Gabby's wasn't in there. Dang. I forgot to move it into our carryon.

Juliana and Melody went to the bathroom to change into their bathing suits and the line was loooong and slow. I think everyone had the same idea. Thinking back they should of just went down a few decks and found a different bathroom. It would of been faster. When they were done, I went with Christopher to the men's bathroom and there were only 2 people waiting in front of us. We waited. And waited. And waited..... Till I just changed Christopher while we were in line. I thought about changing into my suit there too, but both stalls opened up where I was able to change with a bit more dignity.

All changed and ready to go!

From our seats...

The fish!

After swimming for a bit it was time to conquer the slide.

Christopher went up with Juliana because apparently tall people aren't allowed on the slide.

Here comes Bubba!

'Hey kid, why you coming down backwards?'

Christopher ended up under the water. I grabbed him and pulled him out. He was gasping for air. I asked him if he was ok and he shook his head yes. I asked him if he wanted to do it again and he said, 'No, mine don't wanna do it again.' I think he got a little scared going under the water.

Here comes Juliana!

Juliana liked it and went back up and rode it again.

Back over to the kiddie pool....

The line for the Aquaduck was pretty long and Juliana was pretty persistent asking to go on it. I gave in and went to wait in line with her since she wasn't tall enough to ride by herself. While we were waiting the little ones got treated to some ice cream.

We made it to the ride in a little over 30 minutes. It was fun but I didn't walk off saying 'I need to go again'. Juliana on the other hand wanted to get right back in line. I was able to finagle out of going again by suggesting we go check out our room. It was already 2 o'clock- it had to be ready. Right?

We went down one deck to deck 10 and found our room. It was on the starboard side midship- just a short walk from the main staircase. Our luggage was there waiting for us. We had a DVC magnet welcoming us home.

The kids were excited to open the door.

As we open the door the first thing we see is a Castaway Cay bag sitting on our bed.

Christopher ran over to the balcony.

So kids whatta you think of the room and balcony?

Looking back in from the balcony....

The room was big and the perfect size to fit us all. There was a pack-n-play provided as well as a diaper genie. After a few days Melody was in love with the diaper genie and couldn't figure out why she never bought one when Juilana came along. LOL

It was great having the split bathroom so baths could be taken while someone else could be getting ready in the other one.

We took some time getting the room set up while the kids enjoyed the balcony.

Up next... cocktails, drills, and parties... kinda

Hmm... I thought I had posted on this TR before, but apparently not! I'm following along. Loving the report so far. Well, maybe not so much the hassle at Hertz, but still - loving the report!

Great update! The kids look very happy to be on the ship!

We loved having the Diaper Genie in our room, as well. We have a different brand at home, and it doesn't work nearly as well. Although I'm betting the stateroom hosts empty it twice a day and maybe that is why?!

Great pics from the ship, I enjoy DCL posts as I will probably never do one. I'm a big boat chicken...your stateroom is fabulous and a diaper genie is a great idea they have. I never had one either and I'm not sure why. Just another baby item to take up space is perhaps it. Your poor son must've come down fast and been scared  poor little man.

:welcome: Thanks for posting!

Hertz is like a 4 letter word in our house now. It shall never be said out loud. :lmao: :lmao:

They were really excited... so were the parents. :lmao:

I'm sure they empty it often. But once a dirty diaper was in there we couldn't smell it. I guess we should of bought one 8 years ago. :headache: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

So, you're ok with small boats? :confused3 popcorn::

The room was a perfect size for us. Even when the pack-n-play was open there we still room to move around.

Your poor son must've come down fast and been scared  poor little man.
It takes a lot for him to be scared. I guess having his entire head submerged scared him pretty good.

You were worried about dignity? The guy who has pictures floating around on the internet of himself drinking a beer in the shower, or whipping himself... worried about dignity? I'm surprised you even considered waiting for a stall to open up so you could change. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

I like Christopher's backwards slide. Definitely going for style points there. :thumbsup2

Room and balcony look awesome. I could stand to spend a few nights in a place like that.

First the traffic nightmare now the rental car nightmare. Hope it's all better from here on.

Sweet video of the kids. Christopher sure is a ham in front of the camera. lol

So exciting to be on the ship and meet up with Donald so soon. (I have character pictures of my DD that look exactly like Gabby in the Donald picture. lol

Love the slide pics. Juliana looks like a pro, and the pics of Christopher are really funny.:rotfl:

We headed straight up to Shutters for lunch.

The shrimp were great but the crab claws left much to be desired- the meat wasn't that good and they were a pain to crack and open.

Last time we headed down to the Enchanted Garden. They usually have at least one of the main dining rooms open for lunch on boarding day and we found it to be a bit less hectic. I’ll keep in mind for the next trip that the crab probably ain’t worth the work.

We had a great window view and were just enjoying being on the ship.

OK, Shutters wins on that point though.

With full bellies, we made our way outside and tried to find some chairs near the kids pool. They were all taken so we just plopped our stuff down on an open chair.

Surprised you found even one by then.

I went into the bags to get out everyone's bathing suits and Gabby's wasn't in there. Dang. I forgot to move it into our carryon.

Could have all worn your swim wear under your street clothes.
Would have solved all those time and dignity issues.
Just sayin’.

Here comes Bubba!

Whoops…
Got all spun around like a rag doll there.
Sorry it scared him a bit.

The line for the Aquaduck was pretty long and Juliana was pretty persistent asking to go on it. I gave in and went to wait in line

‘Cause that’s what Dads do

Well, things like that and purposely embarrassing their kids in public, but there’s plenty of time to accomplish that second one there.

We made it to the ride in a little over 30 minutes. It was fun but I didn't walk off saying 'I need to go again'.

With you on that.
It’s certainly a plus, but unless the line is manageable not really a must do.

As we open the door the first thing we see is a Castaway Cay bag sitting on our bed.

Cool swag.

I do like the cabins on DCL’s ships. For their size the layout works right well when everyone is trying to get put together at the same time.

Seriously??? You didn't take her to the Dollar store? You are such horrible parents!!!!!:lmao:

I like that she doesn't totally get it and says she wants to go to Disney. I bet once she got on that ship her memory of that faded and she had a blast!

I think you meant you ate at Cabanas as if you ate at Shutters....you would've been eating pictures! :rotfl2:

Love the room. I can't believe Mel never had a diaper Genie. They are so awesome. Worth every penny and they really aren't that much.

What's a diaper Genie?

Poor Christopher going under. Hope he's not scared off slides for good

Ummmm... you forgot the one of me sitting on the can reading the paper. :rolleyes1

I like Christopher's backwards slide. Definitely going for style points there. :thumbsup2
:lmao:

Too bad he never made it back on the slide. It must of really scared him.

Room and balcony look awesome. I could stand to spend a few nights in a place like that.
Most def. I wouldn't of minded staying in there for a few more days. :cool2:

First the traffic nightmare now the rental car nightmare. Hope it's all better from here on.
I can tell you if it got better now but what's the fun in that? :lmao: :lmao:

Sweet video of the kids. Christopher sure is a ham in front of the camera. lol
Thank you.... he was so excited he just started talking a bunch of gibberish. Poor Gabby slept thought the whole reveal. :rotfl2:

So exciting to be on the ship and meet up with Donald so soon. (I have character pictures of my DD that look exactly like Gabby in the Donald picture. lol
Poor kids.... Gabby is familiar with the characters but maybe it was just the size of them that was really scaring her. :confused3

Love the slide pics. Juliana looks like a pro, and the pics of Christopher are really funny.:rotfl:
I think Juliana thought the slide was going to be a bit more exciting, but it didn't stop her from going right back up the stairs and going down again. :rotfl:

The thought crossed our mind to eat at the sit down but Juliana & Christopher really wanted to swim and we thought the buffet would be faster.

The crab was meh.... but the shrimp were really good. I may or may not of had 2 full plates of them. :rolleyes1

OK, Shutters wins on that point though.
The view was great... and I have been since corrected.. We ate at Cabana's not Shutters. :rotfl2:

Surprised you found even one by then.
Luckily since we were on the ship so early, there still were a few chairs left.

Could have all worn your swim wear under your street clothes.
Would have solved all those time and dignity issues.
Just sayin’.
Now that would of been the smart thing to do. You sound like you've done this before. :lmao:

Whoops…
Got all spun around like a rag doll there.
Sorry it scared him a bit.
Yea, but he's a boy. He was back to his crazy self about 30 seconds later. pirate:

‘Cause that’s what Dads do
::yes::

Well, things like that and purposely embarrassing their kids in public, but there’s plenty of time to accomplish that second one there.
I've pretty much restrained myself so far.... or she's not old enough for me to embarrass her just yet.

Cool swag.
::yes::

I do like the cabins on DCL’s ships. For their size the layout works right well when everyone is trying to get put together at the same time.
The layout was great. The size was too. Now we just need DCL to come back to NYC so we can book another cruise. (Then we won't have to pay for 5 people's airfare)

Seriously??? You didn't take her to the Dollar store? You are such horrible parents!!!!!:lmao:
I know. So much for being nominated for 'Parents Of The Year', :badpc:

I like that she doesn't totally get it and says she wants to go to Disney. I bet once she got on that ship her memory of that faded and she had a blast!
Humm.... I think I do recall a few times when she did say that she really wanted to go to Disney. What can I say, I did too.

I think you meant you ate at Cabanas as if you ate at Shutters....you would've been eating pictures! :rotfl2:
Well EXCUSEEEEEEEE MEEEEEEEEE Miss TA herself coming all up in here and putting me on BLAST.

oh-no-you-didnt-29.gif

(Yea, that must of been a Freudian slip. Thanks for pointing it out... going back to fix it now!) :lmao::lmao:

Love the room. I can't believe Mel never had a diaper Genie. They are so awesome. Worth every penny and they really aren't that much.
The room was awesome. I wish I was sleeping there tonight.

What's a diaper Genie?
It's a dedicated garbage can for dirty diapers that automatically seals off each diaper that is placed inside. Every time you open it, there is an empty bag waiting for the next diaper. Plus it keeps the room smell free. :)

Poor Christopher going under. Hope he's not scared off slides for good
Nah, I think he's fine. He was a little hesitant of water slides for the rest of the trip though.

Wonder Woman was a can't miss show when i was a kid. My sister and I would put my moms gold bracelets on and repel bullets! :rotfl2:
