Hubby was able to book off the week after US Thanksgiving! Road trip! Windsor to Orlando! Cashing in Marriott reward points so we are staying off site! 2 tickets via air miles 2 tickets from undercover tourist.
How to keep 10 month old busy and happy in rear facing car seat?
DS 10 DD 7 how to keep them happy and busy keeping in mind that DD gets car sick so no reading for any length.
What are your musts for a road trip? Looking for some tips from my knowledgable dis'rs. Thank you! Shhhhh it's a secret:p: I'm so excited!!

Well, we've done lots of road trips with our kids (9 and 10) and these days it seems to be all about electronics. iPads, DVD players, DS handheld, etc.

There's also craft stuff like rainbow loom, beads and pipe cleaners, colouring, etc.

If you want to go "old-school", we often download audiobooks and listen to them by hooking it up to the car radio. Harry Potter was our saving grace on our trip last summer!

Have fun!

DVD player is an absolute life saver. We had one that mounted to the headrest. Books on tape kids music recordings. We had one we got at the library (road trip songs) my kids listened to it for years. Playing it for them now brings back memories.

I pack snacks in baggies and pull them out along the way. Maybe your kids could read stories to the younger one.

My kids also napped in the car. Each had their own car pillow and blanket.

Colouring, we had a lap desk they could use for this. Lots of paper or a book for each child.

Good luck,:santa:

When my kids were a bit younger I would give them my old digital camera (one I didnt care got broken or damaged) and then give them a mission of what to look for. So if we were headed up north, it might be cows or very tall trees etc. Then after the trip we would sit and go through them and they would tell me all about what they took pics of and why-great bonding. You could have them take pics of the State line signs or maybe make a check list of unusual things to look for like Alaska licence plates or pink cars, mickey car antena bobbers-really anything.

 So sad. We had to cancel our trip. Hubby has to have surgery. His health is our first priority but darn it I was all geared up to go. Looks like Halloween 2015 is our next trip. I guess this gives me more time to save!

Sorry to hear that. There is always next year for Disney, health comes first! Hope all goes well with your husband.:)
