As we resume, I'd like to give you a better understanding of my Michael
Michael was diagnosed with PDD (Pervasive Developmental Disorder...a functional autism), Tourettes, and ADHD at the age of 7. He tends to struggle in social situations, has many irrational fears, often has sensory overloads, and is a stickler for rules!
How does this translate into a Disney Mom's responsibilites while visiting the Happiest Place on earth? Basically just more grace, more patience, a lot of thinking outside of the box, and a good sense of humor.
Now back to your regularly scheduled Trip Report:
So here we were in Fantasy Land and things are going down hill quickly for Michael. It was the stupid bees fault if you ask me. Actually I think I blame Disney for not obliterating all of Floridas bees.

We decided to stop and get a good game plan. Now, I don't see any reason for sitting for a parade if we haven't secured good seats. First off, I am only 5 foot 2...and both my kids are shorter than me...so planning ahead for the parades is a must (in my opinion). Secondly, Elsa gets herself all worked up if she isn't front and center...seeing as she shows a lot of sisterly patience I don't mind to try to facilitate this request.
My solution was to send Meema, Peepa, Elsa, and Michael to ride Haunted Mansion while I saved us some seats. And so this is what we did!

I sat and happily chatted with a gregarious 5 year old boy, Patrick. He sure kept me laughing. Meems and Peeps soon returned with the treat of Itzakadoozies and ice creams! Way to go Meems and Peeps!
We settled in for the parade (well, most of us did...Michael stood way behind us in the shade shielding his head from the bee that was no longer anywhere near us). This was only the second day of this new parade...it was well put together, but if I had to vote, I vote for last years afternoon parade. Maybe the kids idea of no refurbishments was rubbing off on me.
So the parade is done and we are near the mountains...but we can't seem to agree on whether it was warm enough to ride Splash Mountain or not. Peepa emphatically stated it was, Michael was leaning towards Peepa's point of view, cold weather doesn't keep Elsa from riding stuff, but Meema and I are were not buying it...I know I didn't want to be miserable if we got wet.
Somehow Peepa talked us all into riding it...and I blame him for what was about to transpire.
We wisked right through the Fast Pass and quickly entered our boat. Michael and I in the front, Meems, Peeps, and Elsa right behind us. Here's the deal with Splash Mountain...getting wet is expected. Getting soaked down to your underwear is not...at least that hasn't happen any of the numerous times I had ridden this ride before. We just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. We were turning a corner at the beginning of the ride and were parrallel to the
big drop and we got EVERY SINGLE drop of their water splash. It was as if someone had dumped buckets of water on each of our heads. We looked like drowned rats. We laughed through the rest of the ride...what else can ya do? Right?!!
I don't remember what the temperature was, but trust me...it was too cold to be wet for the evening parade...and there was no way Meema's pants were going to dry. Everyone was soaked...Michael's sweat shirt was actually dripping wet...we kept wringing water out of it. The plan was hatched that Elsa, Meema, and I would take a bus back to the resort and throw our clothes (and the boys sweatshirts) in the dryer and Peepa and Michael would head out and see what they could ride. So off we went back to the resort.
Another thing about Elsa is she goes and goes and goes without complaint...so when she takes a break she zonks out! Who knew the bus seats were so comfortable?
While the girls were at the resort drying clothes and showing Meems the lay of the land, the boys went on Thunder Mountain and Pirates of the Carribean. On our way back to MK, I called Peepa and asked him to save us a good spot for for the Spectromagic Parade. I could tell he needed us to come back soon and tag team with him for Michael's benefit.
As the sun went down we were thankful for our toasty DRY clothes...it made a much more enjoyable viewing experience for Spectromagic. I hope they NEVER change this parade. It gives me chills and such enjoyment.
When it was over we speed walked over for a good spot for Wishes and everyone was lighthearted, full of Disney joy, having a splendid time.
Wishes was just as magical as ever.

But now the park was closed

Because it was Meema and Peepa's last day we decided to walk around and see Tommorow Land in all of its lighted glory...but what was this?!!! People boarding rides? Wasn't the park closed? No! We were mistaken!!!

We had a good 40 minutes left...bonus minutes!
We quickly rode Buzz and went to get in line for Space Mountain...but sadly it was not up and running. So we jumped on Buzz again. Peepa crushed all our scores again...how
does he do that?

Then we had a choice to make...we had time for one more ride...what would we choose? We decided to end the day the way we started it. Carousell of Progress. A perfect way to bookend in the day!
And then all too quickly it was time to say goodbye to Meema and Peepa.
