OK, I have read the reviews of Tony's for years, and haven't eaten here since the 1990's.
I had a very pleasant experience, lately, however. While the check in area was crowded, it took only a few minutes to be seated at a table overlooking the 'hub' at the top of Main Street. Since it had rained a few minutes earlier, the air was cool at 8pm, and it was refreshing to sit outside. (Although I couldn't imagine it during the heat of the day)
My server was very sweet (although I did hear once again how overworked everyone is at WDW this year, she did it without making it sound like a whine). I placed a special order and it came out exactly like I had requested. (Travelling so much, I rarely get a chance to cook my own dinner, and ended up with a meal that tasted like I would make myself - perhaps because a german chef made it for this german trained chef?
)
The bread was served with my favourite sun dried tomato and pesto dip (which disappeared from the cold case at POP last year). Although the bread was not the best match (it was a soft Italian sliced bread, whereas a crusty bread would have been a better option) I could probably have made the dip my entire meal.
While there were some disappointments (I had a challenge finding a drink as I don't drink pop, and there were some odd limits to the drink menu ie no lime, no club soda, etc) overall I had a very nice, relaxing dinner. Dinner finished about 20 minutes before the parade, and my server invited me to stay and watch. I declined, however, as I had other items on my agenda (riding the TTA!) My server received a very healthy tip as thanks for the pleasant evening.
Once again it proves that you can't always judge a restaurant by other's reviews. This was one of my last choices and ended up being a pleasant surprise!

Thanks for the review, and glad to hear a good one. We're trying Tony's for the first time during our trip in October.
