Surprise...My first trip to Disney....again!!!

I have been reading everyone's ptr and decided to make one for our trip.

We are going from Novemeber 4-November 11 staying at Art of Animation Little Mermaid room.

So let me start by explaining my title.

When i was about 14 i had some serious trama and have amneisa because of it. i can not remember anything prior to the accident.

I have been informed that we went to wdw when i was younger but i have no memory of it so i feel this is my first trip.

We started planning our trip last novemeber and it is finally getting close.

Our current plans are


11-2 (pack up car)
11-3 leave at 4 am driving from boston to GA
check into hotel
11-4 leave GA head to the World
Check in
explore hotel,dtd etc
Dinner at 1900 Park fare with cinderella
11-5 MK (yay)
Lunch at Crystal Palace
Dinner hoping for Be Our Guest

Breakfast at Akershus
Dinner at Garden Grill

As i said we started planning our trip last november but kept it a secret until April for DD birthday. I spend months planning the best way to tell her. i picked up tons of different disney related things for the road trip down and finally settled on giving her a new suitcase filled with disney stuff and thought as she started to open it would guess we were going.

She got all the way to the bottom which had a planning book for disney and still had no clue!!!

I finally had to tell her and got no response!!! After all my months of planning i was devistated!!!

That night i found her in bed..sobbing so hard i thought she was seriously injured. It had finally hit her and she was in so much shock she could not contain herself. She is now in such deep denial that she does not believe we are going and does not want me to even talk about it....but she wants a Rapunzel dress and goggles for the Nemo pool just in case.

OMGosh! That is tooo cute!!! I got DD a Rapunzel dress for $30ish off of ebay.... she still asks tons of questions as if this is her first time(although she was 2 so she may not remember it

she will not talk about anything disney related. i was so disappointed because i wanted her to take part in the planning if i had know she was gonna be this way i would have kept it a secret until we left.

She knows nothing about all of our adr's or bbb so she will really be surprised.

Kaileigh has no idea about BBB. She does however know about our adrs as she helped pick a few of them. Hopefully Kylie will get more excited as time goes on.

So we are getting much closer to our trip. We have bought the new car...

Our final payment was done last wednesday and still disney has not taken it/

The school is giving us a hard time about dd missing school.
but other than that....

We are going to Disney!!!!

The trip was amazing everything i had thought it would be and so much more. For those that would like to know more details i will be using this thread for my journal of the trip. Prob more details that you would like lol but feel free to read all about our trip. im sure ill add pictures as i go as well.

Nov 2nd- was the first official day of vacation. Both Chris and I had the day off from work, Kylie went to school.
The morning started off with some packing and gathering of laundry. I was to my breaking point and there were multiple moments of melt down.
When things started to get to be to much we decided to take a break and run some errands.
After snack shopping and laundry we headed home to finish packing suitcases and the car.
Once the car was packed Chris went home to gather his last minute stuff and see his parents before he left and I went to go get Kylie from school.
She was so excited and had already completed half of the homework she had been given for missing school.
We went up to Grandpas for dinner then headed down to bed.

Nov 3rd-
The alarm sounds at 1:30am and surprisingly everyone got up. I think we were just to excited and were lucky for the sleep we did get.
Everyone got dressed and headed down to the car to start the long trip down to Kingsland,Ga.

The roads were quite and we drove until before we stopped at a Dunkin Donuts for some breakfast.

The trip was going well until we hit the George Washington Bridge where we some how got mixed up and ended up being diverted thru New York and New Jersey. This would have not been so bad except that it added at least an hour onto our trip, and because of Sandy New Jersey was rationing gas and there were tons of lines at the gas stations,supervised by state and local police and a lot of the roadways were blocked.

Once we made it to a calmer part of NJ we stopped at a walmart to take a break and a breather. Then it was back on the road. Even though the trip took almost 20 hrs with minimal stops it didn’t feel that way. Everyone was fantastic the whole time.

We finally reached Ga about and couldn’t wait to get to the hotel. The hotel was a little difficult to find but once we did and got into our room everyone fell asleep very quickly.

Nov 4th-

After some much needed rest and a wonderful breakfast (Comfort Suites,Kingsland GA) we were back in the car and on our way to WDW!!! It was about a 3 hour drive and we had planned to stop at Walmart for supplies before once we got off the highway next thing we knew we were pulling up to our resort.

It was so much bigger and brighter than I had imagined. None of the months of staring at pictures could do it justice. The line was really not bad at all and seeing how we had already done online check in our room and package was all ready. We did not get the room location that we requested but I was quite happy with the one that we did get. We headed over the the food court to pick up our Disney cups and check out the food.

Then we drove the car over the little mermaid area and headed up with our luggage. When we entered our room there was a letter waiting for Kylie from Ariel welcoming her to the resort and wishing her a wonderful time.

Once all of our luggage was unpacked and we had jumped on the beds (a hotel tradition) we hopped back in the car and headed to down town Disney. I wish we had gotten a map because it was so difficult to find the right way to go and go lost many times on during our trip.

We walked around DTD and checked out the shops,did the Phines and Ferb experience and tried out Disney Quest. While we were in the World of Disney an employee came up to us with an Envelope for Kylie that had been dropped off by Cinderella. It had an invitation to 1900 Park Fare for dinner that night.

We headed back to our hotel to get ready for dinner. After maneuvering our way thru the roads we finally made it to the GF a few minutes late and we hurried to check in. While we waited for our table to be ready we were able to check out the lobby. It was truly beautiful and a wonderful way to kick off our trip. We took our first family photo then headed into our table. We caught a quick glimpse of Cinderella as she headed into the kitchen and Kylie was so nervous and excited. The Chief was wonderful and walked us thru the entire buffet and showed us what was safe for Kylie to eat. Once we got our food and sat down they began announcing the arrivals I looked over at Kylie and she was closing her eyes and exhaling slowly. I think it was finally starting to hit her that she was going to be seeing Cinderella.

The Prince came around first (which I was happy about),then Cinderella and the 2 step sisters. Kylie loves the part in Cinderella where they sing and is forever walking around singing “sing sweet nightingale” and wanted to see if the sister would sing. The first would not but the 2nd sister sang with her. It was hilarious. The little boy sitting next to us proposed to both sister which they played right into and was quite humorous.

After dinner it was time to head back to our room and get ready for tomorrow. Our very first MK day. I for one was very excited.

Hello I came over from the Nov. thread. Sounds like you all had a great time.

I'm glad things went well on the car ride down. That is a very long drive.

We will be staying at Pop and can't wait to walk over and check out the new resort. I'm glad they opened the generation gap bridge. We did online check in just yesterday so I hope its a breeze for us too.

I love all of the little surprises for your dd so cute! Watching our kids is great all the time but seeing them in disney is precious. I cry way to easy. The way you described her waiting on Cinderella is adorable.
