Call us crazy - me and my darling sisters are booked for the surfing lessons at Typhoon Lagoon! Yes, at 6:45 AM, we'll be there, eagerly dipping our toes into the (hopefully) warm welcoming waters . . . all 120 years of us, give or take :rolleyes1 !

Anyone want to give us personal accounts? And do you think it's OK if I wear board shorts and a tank top over my bathing suit - no sense in scaring the folks that early in the morning (I have this wedgie vision of me tuckus over teapot, flying off the board . . . :crazy2: )!

Wow, 6:45 AM! Thats early.
HAve fun!

That was funny!

all I can say is you and dear sister better start getting in shape.... perhaps some squats, and working out those arms.... paddling and pushing yourself up on that board will not be easy.... but oh, so much fun!

Getting in shape? What is this getting in shape you speak of?

(rolling off the couch, panting and heaving . . .)

There's a reason I'm wearing board shorts . . . . :teeth: !

will only hide the 'sins'.... .the working out will allow you to paddle out, and push yourself up on the board!!! Who knows better then the 'little sister'! :earsgirl:

Hey KCMiller, when are you doing the surf lessons? My daughter just signed up for them too.

When you return, please tell us all about it. I would like to sign my kids (big) up next time we are down - if they can be up and ready for 6:45 am

That would be Friday Nov 11th. The video of this should be priceless!

Anna, my youngest (13 at the time) did this last Oct. it was the highlight of our trip. It's cool to be in the park that early (we watched the sunrise), the teachers are awesome. First they go over the basics on dry land then one teacher stays on land and 2 go into the pool to supervise your rides. The hardest part imho is not the paddeling its walking back from the wave pool to the top to get back in. (you enter the pool from a staircase near the back wall of the wave pool) The group that day ranged from a granddaughter and grandmom to teenagers to a disney executive who worked at TL who wanted to learn! Can't wait to report on our experience this November.

I promise to post a review, if I survive :teeth: . And the best thing about a 6:45 start for being tossed around like a cork :teeth: is that 'ready' is a relative term - I'm gonna brush my teeth, but that's about it!

That's too funny! :rotfl:

GEEZ, I think my arms are still sore from this experience last year! It was a lot of fun, but MUCH harder than it looks on t.v. Let's just say that after a morning of surfing, I was too tired to go an waterslides. I just wanted to relax in my beach chair. Muscle relaxant anyone??? :rotfl2:

Did someone say "get in shape"? I have a shape. Round is a shape! :earsgirl:

Hi, everyone,

Wanted to give you a heads up - we've decided to forgo the surfing lesson. With MK being an am EMH, and only having 4 days at WDW, we figured discretion would be the better part of valor, and at 6:45 we'll be most likely drinking morning coffee in line to get into MK . . .

It's gone back on the 'someday' list of things to do . . .
